Hi ho everyone, do you take Tramdol and if so does it make you slightly Erratic and scatty?, I ask as I think it is what has been making me act odd at times(well more than normal!), it's just that I act really strange when I am in a lot of pain and once I am taking the stuff I can't settle and get really moody and feel like I'm a little paranoid if I'm honest about things it doesn't hit straight away but after a day or so taking it things seem to slowly get really wierd,I have been putting it down to the pain and work stress but I'm not so sure at the mo?.

I have 50mg trammies and 100 mg slow-release trammies. The 50s make me sleepy, so I save those for night. The 100s are effective but have to be topped-up with 30/500 co-cos or 50s trammies. (still finding my way with these tho.) I have never once felt anything but my usual self on them - for that to happen I need to mainline the stuff they give you post-op. Now that does change things, and for the better. It sounds trite but it's true: we are all different in how we react. Take care. DD

    Hi Mell
I just felt really spaced out on them, and quite sick, got rid of the sickness but not the spaced out, and not quite sure what I was doing.
Trouble is it hard to define whats normal, well for me anyway :o x:)

Hi, I felt spaced out when I first started taking them and thought I'd have to stop, but they changed them to the slow release ones that I take twice a day and they seem better at relieving the pain and much more 'with it'. Now, I just feel normal. I never felt sick, although the doc warned I might. The trouble is that we all react differently to things and my experience may be different from yours. Maybe discussing it with your GP might help. Mine said that I could have anti sickness pills if they made feel sick.

Been on 50mg ( I think) 2 four times a day, to be honest not had any drowsiness or other effects from them, they're taking the edge of the pain most of the time but I also take 2 SR Diclofenac a day too.... I was on dihydrocodiene for many years though and I don't think Tramadol are as strong (that I know of) and at the back end of taking the Dhydro's I was popping them like smarties.. Takes a lot to make me even slightly drowsy these days.. Sometimes I feel 'jittery' though, like I don't know what to do with myself.. Could be them maybe.?

x:rudolf Hi Mell, I've been on 300mg of Tramadol (slow release) for a good few months now and I feel fine on them, I'm able to get on with my job and feel completely clear headed. I asked my doc if I could reduce them as I was feeling fine but after a few days I was beginning to get pain in places I hadn't had it for a while and more severe general pain, so I upped it to 300mg again and its fine again. Hope this helps. Best wishes, Brenda xx x:rudolf

    Hi Mel,

I been on the a while now so can't remember if they played with my head or not They used to make me feel like I had a hangover in the morning but thankfully I got used to them and they don't now.

I know the pregabalin gave me chronic anxiety for a bit and it didn't last too long but its a horrible feeling to feel stalked and well maybe you could talk to your g about it?

Al these drugs that work mess us up at times but most side effects kinda self right with time. I hope you will find it all eases off for you soon. ((( ))) and a calming draft Cris xx

Hi all thanks for the replies, it's like me brain is scrambled when I have been on them for a day or so plus my moods go up and down, I am going to ask about Co-Codamol as an alternative, I tried some the other day and the pain control was also better for a lower dose, odd but true??

Co-cos are effective, but they can cause blocked drains - if you catch my drift! We are all different in how we react, you just have to find what works for you. Take care, mell. DD

    Nice one you two!!

Blocked drains - need I remind you of the effectiveness of PRUNE juice!!

    Mell
those tramadols are no good for me at all now make me really really sick. Also they can make you odd as they have an opiate effect and pain can make you act unlike your normal self too i think so - put that all together....

Hope you are all moving freely today

My oh my!, what a difference a day or two makes!, I have cut my dose from 4-6 Tramadol's a day to just two Co-Codamol and 1 extra 500mg Paraccetemol and the pain levels are around 5070% lower than they were!, I also don't feel so jagged in the old brain box department, and if I take senna first thing me drains seem to work fine!, WOW what a result!!!!!!. :))
