Hi Rammstein,
Sorry you have had bad news re arthritis, it is a bit of a shock I know. What sort do u have? Are u under a rheumatology team? Why not have a chat with the helpline team they have all sorts of advice to give you for arthritis. They are a very friendly bunch of people here and I'm sure someone will come along and post soon who is far wiser and more knowledgable than me! Best of luck and welcome to the forum poppy x'grá agus solas'

Hi,
fingers crossed for you... The injections are ace!! and they are fine (just don't look!)
I'm just at the start too..
What possible 2 types where mentioned? And what joints are affected?
Take it easy..

Steroid injections don't always work that well - the most benefit I have had from ones in my knees is three days of reduced pain, rather than three months of no pain (which is what I was told would happen). We all react so differently to the medications, there is no sure and certain answer. What two types are the candidates and where are you affected? Does damp weather make things worse or not? Do you have swellings on any joints - and do those joints feel hot? If you are able to give us a little more detail we might be better able to help you. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Good music chooice rammstein!!!
You are just at the start of the process.
You will have tests done to find out what you have - there are 200+ types according to this site!) but I expect they mean osteo arthritis or inflamatory arthritis..
I hope the steroid jab does work for you - some people swear by them and they can give releif for a long time.
In the meantime do keep pposting on here and ask away - if we know the answer we will try our best to help.
Love

Hello and welcome from me too.
I am sorry about your diagnosis and that the steroid injection has not given you the relief you were hoping for. As other peeps have said, diagnosing arthritis is not always an easy process. Hopefully you have been referred to a consultant for further investigations but, in the meantime, you could talk to your GP about what could be done to help with the pain and stiffness (for example anti-inflammatory drugs and/or painkillers).
If you think it would help to talk to someone, you could call the Arthritis Care helpline. Their phone number is at the top of the page.
Thinking of you.

Hi Rammstein
Just calling in to say hello and I'm so sorry you are still reeling with the shock of all this it can take some getting your head around but do ask any questions, people will offer advice or support if they can. I hope you can get back to your doc and get any referrals they recommend soon but do phone the helpline here they really do understand.

Hi Rammstein,
Its hard in the beginning but after they have done the tests they hopefully will come up with a treatment plan and you will start to feel better.
Its also a hell of a shock and you need time to process it and get your head round it all but you will get there even though it doesn't feel like it just now.
I hope they will soon get all the tests done and you start t get some help and feel better. Nice to meet you. Cris x0
