I saw a different consultant yesterday after the last one was so nasty, I saw this guy years ago and be is great!
Anyway, he examined the leg and said there is fluid in the joint, he has ordered a bone scan with the radioactive dye and no matter what the result, he is going to surgically explore the area!
He is looking at a possible problem where the TKR meets the thigh bone!
What a relief, some people may not kick up the fuss I did and so would just go home and suffer the pain!

Oh that's fantastic news! I always kick up a fuss when I'm unhappy. It's not fair on you to be living in pain.

I am pleased for you too Z. But how hard would have been for the first surgeon to have examined you and tell you the reason for your pain...unless he feels to blame!
Glad you have some answers and well done for kicking up a fuss which you were entitled to do.

    Hi Zec x:rudolf

Good for you! I am so pleased that at long last you are getting the help that should have been forthcoming ages ago. Sometimes we have to create a little when we feel we are being trampled on and I am so pleased that you did and now hopefully things will be sorted for you as best they possibly can.

:)) I wish you a happy christmas and a hopeful, healthy new year.

    Hugs

    Hi Zech
That is such good news, and you really deserve after the treatment you have had.
Why there should be such a difference in consultants is beyond me, surely they all get the same training.
You must be so proud of yourself.
Wishing you all the best with whatever they do, I am sure you will be in much less pain.

Hi Zech, well done for fighting your corner - this second appointment sounds a lot more promising. So glad you have a plan and that the ortho listened.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

I also have a very very long term plan, I will one day make it to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, not for charity, not to make a
    Point, but, for me!

Hi, Really glad you've got a consultant you can talk to, it's horrible to be talked at and made to feel rubbishy.
Good that you are having treatment too. Doctors are so different in their approach. Makes you wonder why one thinks you'r OK and another finds the problem!!! Good luck and I hope all goes well now. Well done for keeping fighting! Love Suexx
