I guess he was, to those who appreciate him, but I always found him rather creepy. I don't like Laurel and Hardy either, but enjoy Buster Keaton and Harold LLoyd. Each to their own, I guess! I hope your shoulder is easing, del, and that you have had a good day today. DD

    Gotta admit I was a fan... He was a genius, I think Robert Downey Jr did quite a good job playing him in the film..

    1977, Queen's Silver Jubilee yr, it was on my birthday, 7th June, we had a huge street party, convinced myself it was more for me then her Majesty... lol

    Yes, Delboy, Chaplin was a genius - and like most of the truly great comedians his comedy was often socially significant. As the poet Roger McGough once said, humour is a great way of making a serious point.
