Ye gods one minute it's artic outside with polar bears and penguins fighting for food round the bird table then the next thing is so mild the crows are now building nests!, we've even seen red kites doing mating displays which are totally stunning, they go up a few hundred feet then hold their talons and spiral down then let go and go back up and do it all over again, sometimes one will fly above the other and the lower bird turns upside down and they grap each other, years ago you would have to go to some tropicle forest to see such things now you only need to go for a short walk to see it.

Here in Brighton we have nothing as exotic as the red kite but we still enjoy watching the wild life at their friskiest ! Even a boring herring gull can appear beautiful when feeling " flighty " ! Our most impressive birds around here are the kestrels , gorgeous when seen close up . Happy New Year everyone . Jilly0
