hi all as you know things are settleing down for me at moment and have not had to take co-codamol for over a week might not sound long but has been over a year since managed so long with out got nearly 2 months suply now when was always running out before :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) who would have thought two small tabs a day could do so much good :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) wishing you all a pain free year hugs val

    That's the naproxen that has helped, yes? That is good news valval, long may it continue - and I hope you avoid the yellow furry tongue side-effect, it is not a good look. DD

    Hi Val.
    i had the liquid naproxen for a year or so and then it stopped working

    no had to stop it because of side affects. on hydroxychloroquine 1 twice a day works great took months to kick in but was on naproxen then as well

    Hi Valval
    I had hydroxychloroquine also but be aware there are side effects (isn't there always!!) You have to watch your eye sight. I was on it for nearly two years then had to go back to my Rheumy as was itching all over, and I mean itching, a hairbrush was all I could get relief from it, but was marking too much lol, looked like I'd had a run in with Freddy Kruger!! Hope things stay good for you as it's not often we get pain free x

    I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    Hi Val,

    So pleased that you are feeling so much better in yourself. Long may it last. I have been on hydrox for about 18 mths now and like you it did take a long time to work.
