Well I've got rid of the bath seat. Peter dismantled it tonight and its in the garage. I'll ring the OT tomorrow and get her to arrange collection.
Washed the bath {or should I say Peter did}.....I see what you mean cherry......it hasnt been in long and the great black marks that it left were unbelievable so after 3 months I dread to think how hard it would have been to clean .
After it had been washed.....I had a great long soak in it...up to my neck :P what a change. Peter remembered he had bought a cheap bath handle from A**di.....its a sucker thing and he put it on the wall.....we tried it with me in the bath with clothes on to figure out where was the best place to put it. It was easier to get out of the bath afterwards.....I had forgotten about the buoyancy {sp} of the water.
So that works better. I'll just have to check and take it of each time and put it on again....I could just see it getting loose and me landing back in the bath again

Hoorah! Does that mean a celebratory sherry? It doesn't? Oh.
I have a couple of grab handles that work by suction. They are in the cupboard under the sink, have been for years, but I suspect one of them will soon be making an appearance, for an extra bit of support, when vaulting (I wish) in and out of the bath for my daily sprinkling. I am glad the monstrosity has gone - I might have come up with a better plan: basically Peter needs a digger with a bucket: scoop you in, tip you into the bath, then scoop you out when done. Simples! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Aww Hileena I bet you're delighted that Peter's removed that antediluvian space craft from your bath
I was right about the filth though wasn't I Makes you wonder whether there's a secret plot to polish us off with some alien lurgy breeding away in the midden heap beneath the bath lift.
I reckon a good alternative would be for an Anne Widdicombe type harness to be fixed to the ceiling with the ability to press buttons for lowering and raising our delicate bodies in and out of the soothing water.
Happy soaking

Hi Hileena
I am so pleased you have managed to get the alien removed and taken away so quickly.
Glad you managed to have a lovely long soak , that the handles you bought have helped.
Will have a sherry to celebrate too. cheers

Hi Hileena,
Glad that Peter is on the mend and he managed to get rid of the offending item. :P
I wonder how long it will be before they collect it and pass it on to the next unwary client.
Will you stand at the door and wave it off, hankie in hand??

Hi Julie,
Yes the handle or grab bar was great except with it being sucker one it has to be put on each time to make sure its secure....or I might land in a very undignified heap LOL
As for the sherry....I think DD has finished it off.....anyway its gone

Hi, I,
Goodness knows how long it will be before they collect it. but its in the garage.....our garage isnt for cars
I rang the OT this morning and told her and she said OK she would get it collected.....did I want her to come and demonstrate an inflatable one????? She said that would get me into the water a bit more I thought {didnt say} a bit more is no good.....I just said no thanks I would stick with the grab bar.....to be fair to her she said if I tried it for a while and it was successful let her know and she would get a permanent one put in. If I needed anything elser give her a ring....so she was very helpful....even if she did try to palm that of on to me
Anyone know anything about the inflatable ones? I'm not having one just curious
Love

Good riddance to a load of rubbish .... shame though that it didn't fulfill it's purpose.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0
