I am undone!

Had my stitches out today, procedure very carefully executed by the Sister.
I thought, whoopee, I can have a bath
Nah, no such luck. After the Surgeon had viewed it he plastered on a dressing, then some wadding, then a crepe bandage and then a sticky crepe bandage. Oh nuts and double nuts I've got to keep it thus for another three weeks! That'll be 6 weeks in all and it was only a bunion that called for a fancy "Scarf Akins procedure with lateral release". Perhaps he's concerned that the permanent metal screws and staples will pop out!
I told him how happy I was with it all, only had twinges, no "proper" pain and the only moan I had was that it itches. He winked and said "scratch it then" Yeah right,I said I had been but after his thorough bandaging there's no point of entry!
However I have a cunning plan to facilitate a lovely hot soak in the bath..............................

It's better to be safe than sorry, cherrybim, surely. I am glad that you are healing OK, he sounds as tho he is pleased with his handiwork, and I guess it's best to carry on protecting it than not. Surely wrapping the foot in a plazzy bag and sealing it might work, if you are that desperate for a bath? I know you probably shouldn't but hell girl, we all do things we probably shouldn't! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Yep your right DD, better safe than sorry. However I always do things I shouldn't. Now is the time to call a halt to all that malarky.
I think the duck tape securing the plazzy bag will have the added benefit of giving my leg a good waxing

Hi Cherry
I am sure you will manage to have a soak somehow, you have done really well, my brother had his done and was in agony after.
Good Luck

Hi Cherry
Oh poor you how disappointing, but glad to see you are hanging on to your sense of humour and are not having any major pain with the recovery. It looks like you might just have to wait a bit longer to have those fish nibbling your feet and I was waiting to hear how it went.
Guess we both have to have a bit of patience.
