Hi everyone,
Do any of you know where I can get something that I can put tins and stuff in,in my ground floor cupboards, that I could just pull out and push back in,if that makes sense,my knees just wont bend down that far and I am sick of asking or going without? Mirabella

I just use plastic boxes, you know, little ones for storage. I can pull them out so far, find what I need then shove back in. They can also go one on top of the other if the cupboard allows. I haven't knelt down since 1997, it's a hugely over-rated activity. DD

PS Totally forgot to say it's nice to see you back, mirabella!

    Hi DD,
good to be back, missed you guys have been away up home for awhile,it was so good to be with my family.Good to come home to,see my girls(dogs) and the peace and quiet of the country. You made me laugh, your right it is an overated activity, however I don't have choice,it's a case of getting in these cupboards somehow or starving. Its the way this old kitchen is designed, well to be honest its not really a kitchen at all,500yrs ago it was for the tenants animals to be kept in,the wall where the cupboards are is only 4` tall hence they have to be on the floor level.I has'n to add that it has been bricked up and plastered since then and I do have 2 tiny windows.Thankfully for me I am only little,in fact my kitchen has the original tree branch going though it overhead, many friends have cracked thier heads on it.
What I need is baskets or containers on wheels that I can pull out,get my drift!! Mirabella

Why not just a veg rack then, is there room for it to stand on the floor? Things on wheels might not fit into a cupboard that well. Do tins etc have to be kept in the kitchen at all? Is there another cupboard you could utilise, or space under the stairs or summat? Sometimes we have to be very creative in finding solutions to problems! DD

hope your knees have eased a little today

sorry folks have not got back to you sooner, think my PC developed a cold or something, just would not turn on,until today, fluke maybe! DD,trust me I have adapted many things to my way of doing stuff to make life easier for me as much as I hate it.My nearest IK
is miles away,so thats no go,but will go to the other suggestion soon.My pyshio is also going to give me some extra excersises which hopefully strengthen my knees.Have been reading the other forum today on the arthitus room,so sad these people,I have no right to moan, scares me so much. Thanks everyone to your replies and suggestions. Mirabella

You have every right to moan, we all do. Of course there are those who have more to contend with but I have always viewed that as an irrelevance. We are all fighting a tough battle against this disease and sometimes it does all become too much. Why shouldn't we moan? If it becomes a habit tho, well, that is a different matter. I hope the exercises help and that you can solve your storage problem. DD

    Hi Mirabella,

I use an oblong plastic washing up bowl on my low cupboard shelves - they slide in and out very easily.
