Or should it be toast and tea....
Been out all day.........working the dogs.....
Came home.......'did' the dogs.......
Came in house........
Errr........tea and toast sounds like a plan.....
Boiled water......put some in pot to warm it up.....
Tea bag.......
Bread in toaster.........
Came into sitting room, draw curtains.......
Switch laptop on.......
Funny smell coming from kitchen.......
Not toast.......something burning......
Into kitchen......toaster smouldering.....
Switched off.......looked inside.......
Funny black blob smoking away......
Thought I'd have a cup of tea and investigate later.....
Milk in cup...pour tea........like 'nats water'.....
Look inside tea pot......
Slice of bread in tea pot......
Teabag in toaster........
damn................
Fink me got it wrong somewhat.....

Oh dear, I think we've all done something like that in our time! Unwrap a sweet, throw the sweet in the bin and eat the wrapper - that's one of my better efforts.
One of my lads 'lost' a dwarf hamster, sweet little thing it was. The family hunted high and low, found no trace. They then settle down for breakfast, switched on the toaster and found . . . . . . He was very upset. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -

Well, that's my excuse, anyway :!:0 -
Found my purse in the fridge, bananas in the bread bin, and had absolutely no idea where the bread was.

Ditto with the purse in the fridge, do that quite often. I was in the cupboard this morning, emptying out, looking for something, but by the time it was empty I had no idea what I wanted in the first place and still don't remember.
Went to work once in my slippers, did a whole shift on the ward, bless, it's a shame for us.XX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0
