Hi Iris
I'm sorry you've been having such a tough time. It's so frustrating when you get conflicting opinions from different consultants.
Hopefully they will make Tocilizumab available for people with PA soon - or more consultants will bend the rules just that little bit. In the meantime I hope the 'red injection' works for you & you can turn this corner to better times.
We're all with you, keep your spirits up.
Love

Hello Iris
Just a quick message to say hope you are as OK as you can be, given all that you have going on at the moment!
Take care

Morning DD, Marion, Barbara, Val, Wonky, Elna, Tilly, Speedy,Toni , JuliePF and Cris. and anyone else about on this very wet morning!
Thanks for the great messages, advice, dandelions, sunflowersxx, and offers to be the first to sign my next cast!
I am emerging from the pit and feeling a whole lot better as the horrible 'wished' and 'shift' feelings are passing.
I phoned the Day Ward yesterday to ask more about the 'red injection' as I couldn't find any references to 'it' on the tinternet!
Apparently it's a duo joint injection of Rifampicin antibiotic and good old reliable kenalog. It's the Rifampicin which gives it it's gorgeous red colour, hence the name.
I've to go in early morn on the 9th Feb, will be given the red joint jab and the knee will then be splinted until late afternoon. I'm told it's a painful injection. All being well I should be allowed home and will have to rest the knee for another 24hrs minimum.
Oh... and for a few days after, my 'wee' and tears will be red! how odd will that be.
hope you all have something nice planned for the weekend!
love and (((hugs))) to all
Iris xxxx
ps... speedy. I'm already on the surgeon's list for the hand surgery... just waiting for the pre-op date to fall through the letterbox.0 -
Hi Iris, I'm so sorry, just caught up with this........had those 'wished' feelings myself lately........not nice. Glad you are feeling a tad better, I'm definitely feeling brighter today.........can't answer for tomorrow, so taking it a day at a time.
The news about the 'red' injection is intriguing.........I'd be tempted to have a good bawl to see if it's true!
It's very mild down here today in the not-so-sunny South and the bulbs are shooting up. A good sign for me, heartening.
All my best wishes, Iris.

Hi Annie
You are so right!.... taking things a day at a time when things are rough is sound advice. I am glad though that you are feeling a bit better. :!:
My son assures me he'll have me in tears just to see if what they've said about being red is true! what a loving son eh?
It's raining heavily here today (much better than snow!) and it's blowing a gale too...
not seen any signs of spring yet in the garden.... but something nice to look forward to. I love spring!
keep well Annie.xxx

Hi Iris
you sound much more like yourself, if that makes any sense
It sounds like a good idea to ring for more info, and now you know what you're in for it will be easier to face it I expect. I really hope that it will be worth all the faffing about, and that this time it will really do you some good
don't forget your roomiest pockets on that day - there will be many of us with you!
hugs

Hi Iris,
Good to see you and even better to see you more like you. On the pluss side at least you don't have that evil stuff thrown through you again!
Got the rain and gales as well but it might be warmer this end
You go careful and with a bit of luck the red jab will really do some good..... going to mention it for an idea for the lumber cus it does sound good...... red tears well least its not black That will mean nothing less you seen a sad thing I watch too much off
Hoe you have a decent day flower. ((((( ))))) Cris xxx0 -
Hi Iris,
Glad you managed to get the information about the red injection in the end. I like to know what to expect too. Tell that son of yours he’s not too big for a clout round the ear if he tries to make you cry.
Hope the two loons are behaving themselves and are not eating your bestest dandelions and honey sticks. :P
Hopefully the rain will be easing off next week so we will all be able to stop paddling for a while at least.
I’m sure I saw some daff bulbs struggling up for air in the garden.
Gentle hugs,
Lv, Ix0 -
