Hi i am having a bad night ,i am in lots of pain its from my neck . I am so feedup of being in pain all the time. I have taken all the meds i can , tried to do something to take my mind of it .The pain seems to be in my chest coming from my neck . Does anyone else have this sort of pain, it fightens me a bit because i wonder how bad it could get .
I dont know why i am writing this really except knowing you all have the same problems makes me feel a bit better and writing is a way to ignore it . Thanks for listening if anyone is on . jilly

First thing Jilly is that you are not alone, nobody could understand more than us on here, since finding the forum this place has been my nightly ritual to keep my mind from the pain, meds don't really do much for mine either at the minute so I just potter on here as long as I can stay awake, eventually get so tired I can fall asleep...

Really hope you feel better soon....

Thanks Tony , the trouble is only people that have it know how much it hurts , it seems to go on and on it even wakes you up when you finally get to sleep . You wonder what you did to deserve this horrible condition. thanks for the help ...jilly

We aren't here to judge your spelling hun, just here to help each other...
I also am woken up through the night, quite a lot usually.. Every now and then I reach for the tamazapam on top of all th pain meds, usually get some sleep but don't want to get too dependant on them..

    Keep on posting

Jilly i did reply.. but it's disappeared.. thats happened a lot lately/... so sorry..

Just suggested a heat source of some kind on your neck ie .. hot water bottle. wheat pack or heat pad...

I often use a hot water bottle, provides me with some comfort..

    Hi Jilly
I am so sorry you are suffering , talking to us lot will help you, we do understand some of what you are going through.
All I can recommend at the min is a wheat cushion that you heat up in the microwave...they do help.
Have you been referred to a pain clinic, if not ask your GP they can offer different meds, and also acupuncture this has help allot of people on here.
You know were we are when you need to talk, let us know how you are.
Sending you lots of hugs (((((()))))

    Hi Jilly,

I hope by now that you are managing some sleep. Have you tried the anti- inflam gels or a soft collar?
I hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
Neck pain is terrible; it makes it so hard to get comfortable.

    Hi Jilly,

My neck does it too...... Its horrible and I really hope yours has eased off a little and you have found something its comfortable with?

I used to use a scarf wrapped round it and heat as well but they gave me a nice shiny new collar recently.... it helps the neck but upsets the collar bones and lumber....

Have you had it really looked at? MRI's etc? If not try and get one cus they didn't bother with mine till I had had trouble with it for oer 7 years... by the time they looked it was too far gone for much help except pain control... which they never quite achieve.

Make sure you get the best for it....

Oh the swelling in my case was the arthritis in the vocal cord bit..... please make sure you get it well checked out flower.

Hope your sleeping and got a bit of respite from the pain. A ((())) and an anti-pain draft. Cris x

Morning jilly, I hope you managed to get some rest in the end. It does get one down, we all know that. I get woken about every 90 minutes, even with a slow-release trammy and top-ups of co-cos, the pain dullers do what they can but pain is a stubborn entity and doesn't respond that well to the wallops we try to give it! I am lucky so far in that my neck is very rarely affected: only when I really flare does it twinge a little. Do you have a fleece-type scarf? They are very warm, but without the weight. Wrap a wheatie in one of those and it could help even more. I hope things improve, and soon. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben
