I can't believe you could get this much pain. The OA in my ankle is the worst its ever been, It feels like a bomb has gone off in my ankle and to top it off, we're really busy at work and I'm on my feet up and down stairs all day long. No sleep at night either.
It really makes me cranky and short tempered which I do not like one bit.
My daughter is upset as I cant play with her on the Xbox Kinect she got for Xmas.
My wife has to take the dogs out all the time instead of me and I really enjoy the fresh air it gives me as I work in a building with no windows.
I know the pain is bad for us, but its our other halfs that deserve the real praise as they have to give up so much and put up with us when we are down.

Anyway, 25 days til my fusion. Not that I'm counting

Relentless pain does get one down. It grinds away at you, day in day out, hour in hour out, minute in and minute out, the pain dullers do their puny best to take the edge off but sometimes you are left wondering if you have actually taken any. COme and tell us, bobbyger, we understand. I hope things begin to ease soon. I wish you well - the op isn't far away now, hopefully you'll have a lovely swipe of GA - that is the only thing I have found that knocks it all on the head for a while! DD (GA = general anaesthetic)
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

Hi Bobbyger, Sorry to hear you're in so much pain. It really can make you so miserable and I find I get a personality transplant when it's really bad. I can feel the horns growing out of my head and a forked tail from my rear end. Just as bad is the frustration of not being able to do stuff. Being on your feet all day can only make it worse for you. Big up to your OH for being so supportive. Give yourselves a nice treat. Hope it improves soon. Jassie.

    Hi,
Sorry you are suffering, unfortunately chronic pain can be a part of Osteoarthritis, I have to use a wheelchair because of OA and am unable to do alot of thing.
The pain clinic at the hospital have been crucial to keeping me going, obviously your GP & consultant will prescribe pain killers but, the pain team specialise and I cannot fault the service.

I hope you find an answer and get some relief, there is nothing worse than pain

    Hi bobby

I am waiting for a fusion within the next 2 years depending on how bad and how quickly it deteriortes. I see surgeon on Monday. Sometimes it gets really bad and painful so that I can not walk without awful pain but other times I have no pain at all. When off my Humira my foot was dreadful. I find standing a lot through the day makes it worse then it locks up and hurts through the night. I think pacing yourself is a priority. Sadly I get very little help and no sympathy so often have to keep going. My children no longer ask me to join in wii games but I still watch and praise them up and they like my company.
    How are you with driving?

Hi Bobby, just know that you're not alone with the pain, I've had a flare up from the bowels of satans armpits these last two weeks, slowly starting to recover, plus had some injections a week ago so am hoping they will work soon..
Those of us with others halves that care for us are very lucky indeed, I make a point of telling mine how much I appreciate her as much as I can..

Good luck with the fusion rkid...

    Be well..
