Hi

Government figures suggest that more than 10 million people alive today will live long enough to celebrate their 100th birthday – meaning they will spend a third of their lives in retirement.
And by 2066 about 500,000 people a year will be celebrating their 100th birthday, compared to about 10,000 now.

Longevity runs in my family, so maybe I will be one of the 10 million, but how will the country be able to afford it with pensions/ healthcare etc. :?:

Would you like to live to 100 :?:

Joan

You don't believe all that rubbish about the end of the world, do you :?: As you are young now, you probably will live to 100 or longer because it's likely that there will be life-prolonging drugs in the future.

Well. My Granda that died in 2000 was 76 when he died, my granny was 87 and my granda there was 79... My great granny was months off her 90th when she died, so my lot do live a long while so who knows.....

And no I dont beleive it, if I did, I would be having panic attacks every day as the end of the world is a fear of mine (and probs everyone else, but me its HUGE)

Good grief no. My heart leapt with joy when that report came out that those with RA tend to die ten years earlier than those without. I have PA (similar to RA) so on that basis I have only about 22 years left of this rubbish. Hoo-bloody-rah! Living to 100 is no doubt lovely for those in rude good health, who keep their faculties and who can be financially and physically independent, but for a physical wreck like me, no thank you. DD

You gotta do 53 skezier, so you can tell me what it's like. I hit 52 quite soon and the day after Mr DD hits 53, but he never tells me nuffink. DD

OH MY WORD!! dELLBOY those bugs are everywhere, did you import them or breed them??
Anyhow,I absoutly do not want to live to be a hundred,my goodness, the thought makes me feel sick, watching this country and the rest of the world going to pot.Who ever wants some one else to take you to the loo,or even worse have to wear large nappies, feed you as you can't do yourself,it's a no,no,no :?: :?: :?: :?: If I can't do stuff myself, have had a taste of that already and did'nt like it one bit(not the nappy bit).My mum is so dependant on my Dad,she is happy with her life, but not for me! Umm now that would depend on how much pain i was in...or if they have sorted out a cure for arthur....To be honest my chance going by statistics i have upto 15 years to live if i am lucky. Had cancer twice so odds are not good but not hopeless. It will be good to prove the buggers wrong...:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

In answer to the original question, NO

Arthritis and old age are not good companions in my experience.
