In Trouble

It wasn't a good day today. After looking at our bank statement (never a good idea at this time of year having had Diwali, my youngest's birthday, xmas, my eldest's birthday and my birthday all within 3 months), my husband decided to bite the bullet and ask how many pairs of shoes I have.

I didn't actually know!

My middle child (going off her a bit) then decided it would be fun to COUNT MY SHOES. And the result?... They're still counting. Good luck finding them all - ha!

So in the meantime, I thought I would use the free time to run a little poll - has anyone done one yet? Thought I'd give it a go because looks like it's going to be a long night in the Kang household!

Should wimmin be criticised for having more than one pair of shoes? 21 votes

Yes - one pair of shoes at a time which suit ALL outfits should be sufficient

No - wimmin should be free to have at least 4 pairs, bought sensibly and with thought to the contents of their wardrobes

NO! - shoes are a wimmin's expression of who she is and an instant mood lifter (shoes tend to fit no matter what the fluctuating weight of said wimmin). They should be allowed as many as possible

NOOOOOO! - in fact, not only should it be a legal requirement to buy and have as many shoes as physically possible in the home, wimmin's partners should feel duty-bound to actively encourage their wimmin to buy more shoes and not moan about lack of money, space and the "bad influence" on said wimmin's female children

    My dear Nina

I did not have three thousand pairs of shoes, I had one thousand and sixty.

In my opinion, one needs at least 3 pairs of shoes for every day of the year, or even 4 in case of rain. One should never wear the same pair of shoes twice. ( rather like underwear ) Much too common

Personally, when one husband goes bankrupt or gets deposed, I just find a replacement ( one can never have too many shoes or husbands :!: )

    Good luck with your poll

    Yours sincerely

One thing is for certain, if I COULD wear them I'd buy them. Sadly very few shoes fit me or are comfortable so I don't bother looking.

I think muslin rags would suffice, as Del said, if your in the house you don't need anything else, plus, a bit of polish on the kitchen floor tiles and hey presto, you're cleaning the floor as you wash up/iron/put things away/fetching me my Dangermouse slippers and mi tea

Wimmin eh?? Never happy  :lol:

I think you should have as many as you can afford or want. I personally HATE shoe shopping as i have very narrow feet and have trouble finding shoes or sandals that fit. You need sandals for the summer, shoes, boots for the winter, walking shoes/boots, going out sandals, going out shoes....high heeled shoes(for the ladies or gents!!! that can wear then) flat shoes for comfort and some in between. Ummm thats one wardrobe full.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
