Ive got to admit, it was my fault. The weather was atrocious, driving rain, 50mph winds, etc, but as I came out of a side road, I saw a car, but didn't see another comming 10 yards behind him on a slightly blind corner.
Anyway, I slammed on the brakes hard, and he did, It's a good job he saw my cock up, because it would have been a problem.
It slightly made me a bit nervous about driving tonight, but once youv'e fell off a horse, get back on .
What were you like after your first car bump. Alanthemanc

Ummmmm, I haven't had one, yet. Someone reversed into me at a petrol station - he just set off without looking to see if anyone was there and I couldn't reverse due to a pedestrian crossing behind me. Observation is the key to everything when driving - look, look and look again! At least you didn't hit anyone, and that's a good thing. My regards to Carlos - I trust he ie behaving himself! DD

    D.D.
Yeh, it was a close call. awful conditions, very difficult to see out of the side windows properly because of the amount of rain.
It did shake me for a while, silly mistake.
Carlos is ok though, that wonderful man David Cameron has said he's going to help fill Carlos up, at very cheap prices so Ive hear'd. Ha Ha. ( that guy is hopeless .
Don't go hitting any cars soon D.D. alanthemanc

    Hi Alan

I'm glad that you are OK after your near-miss. I always think that it doesn't matter about the car as long as the people in it are alright.

My first bump was only two weeks after I bought my first brand-new car. I'd had old second-hand ones before that, and of course, nothing had happened to them. But it was icy weather, and early in the morning because I was driving to work. I got into a skid, and suddenly, a stone wall was coming towards me  All I could think of was my lovely new car, and didn't give a thought to myself :!: Luckily, I came to a stop just as the wing caught the wall, and only minor damage resulted. It was only later that I realised it could have been the end of me if I'd been going faster.

Wow, looks like you were lucky, it could have been worse. Yeh, Iv'e got to admit, I think I'd do the same, you think about the car first, it's human nature I suppose. Alanthemanc.

Ummmmm, I think I have to disagree alanthemanc, my sincere apologies. Much as I love my Daisy (and I do, frogmorton knows this to be true) and as much as she brings comfort and sanctuary, she is a heap of mass-produced metal: no more, no less. What really galls is the fact that her scrap metal value outweighs my scrap human value. DD

Hi Alan, good to know you're ok Rkid.. My first bump was my fault, I had only passed my test two days before and it was my first car, escort mark 2, on the ring road heading home from work, I just didn't react quick enough when the guy in front jammed his brakes on for the queueing traffic... Wrote my trusty white heap of crap off, lol... Minimal damage to the other car and we were both ok... I made sure not to stop driving....

Yeh I was a bit lucky. My passenger on the passengers near side gave me a quick warning, otherwise I would not have seen him. I will be more warey in bad conditions in future. Lucky for me I didn't hit him like you did.

D.D. yeh your right of course, but you know what I mean, Carlos is cool. Alanthemanc
