Firstly i would like to say a big thank you for all your kind messages of support for today.. was going to make it short and sweet but DD has persuaded me otherwise lol, will give you the best insight i can..

Was up at crack of dawn getting my body mobile lol as i had to get train to hospital for appointment at 9, was rushing around making sure the kids were ready and ok and totally forgot to put me tablets in me bag (hence why i am now lying on me bed relaxing lol)
Got to my appointment a lil late(half hr due to train grr)once checked in i was given an injection into my arm(radiation liquid called tracer if i remeber rightly)
i was told to sit in the waiting room and return at 12;15 giving the radiation liquid time to move around my body...
I had nowhere to go and didn't feel like taking a bus ride to nearest town .. so i decided to sit around(fidgeting an walking round in circles keeping meslf mobile lol) and wait to be called..
I went in the room still in my own clothes(ace) and was asked to lie down(was bit like an mri scanner).. she expalined that the The substance travels through the bloodstream to the bones and organs. As it wears away, it gives off radiation. This radiation is detected by a camera that slowly scans your body. The camera takes pictures of how much radiotracer collects in the bones.
The all over body scan was 35 mins ... then i had a seperate scan of hands and feet an extra 10mins..
I had a sneaky peak at the images on the screen when doing hands and feet, i could see that there was a thick white mass around both wrists and lighter mass on knuckles, on my feet there was a thick mass around my ankles, at the bottom of my feet(it seemed) and some of my toes had a light mass..what this means i do not know and am not going to speculate lol..
After all this was done she said she would process images and that my consultant shall receive by tom..(that gd )

It has been a long day.. out the house since half 7 returning home at 3... so i am worn out lol...

Hope every1 is not too bad today..
Take care

Tracy

I dispute that! I wanted info, yes, but only when you could - oh I hope you didn't feel under pressure to post - I am so sorry. Thank you for the update, it was very interesting and now I know what to expect if I ever have to have one. I hope you get the results soon - let us know what they say. DD

These things are tiring, demanding, frustrating and exasperating all at the same time - thank whoever we girls can 'multi-task' emotions as well as chores! I hate to say it (but I will anyway, I'm like that) sometimes family is/are not the best audience for this type of conversation, it's fascinating stuff for us, of course, but for them? Nah. I know there are others on here who have had these scans - I feel slightly left out. I want a bash at dorcas' red injection - I want red tears and red wee, it would make a change from the horrid lucozade colour of sulpha wee! Thank you for updating us. Hope you're not too exhausted and that you can rest this evening and get an early night.

I remember peeking at mine but I could see nothing but a whole lit up body. They are denser in some areas anyway, something to do with the bones or blood. Who knows?! I'm tired, I'm rambling. lol

    When do you hear? x

I didn't see the colour images just the xray looking one lol.. basically my bones but areas around my wrist and ankles mainly were a big mass of white... i believe the tracer attaches itself to problem areas, hot n cold spots, as i did not see the colour images i do not know what is what lol.. but like i said earlier i am not a doctor and am not going to speculate lol

I hoping to hear in the next few weeks my rheumy is normally really gd at sending me out letters regarding recent appointments and results.. am not due to see him till 14th of april otherwise which is long way away ... so hoping that letter in post soon..xx

    Hi Tracy,

Glad that’s over with for you. You must be shattered. Hopefully you are soaking in the bath by now and have caught up with some of your meds.

Fingers crossed that you manage to have a good night’s sleep.
As you say all you can do is to wait for the results.

    You take care of yourself,
