Hi, I had my second lot of acupuncture today. It seems to have made more difference than the first one. The way I look at it is if you are in agony you are going to notice a difference but I'm not......Its more achey than anything else.....and if I try to do housework....down low or lifting etc I get very sore {achey} I think my main test is how far can I walk without having to stop because I'm in pain....at the minute its about 10 to 15 mins and thats it...I get pain .....havent had time today but tomorrow {providing its not pouring down} I'll drive up to our village and see how far I can walk without being sore....My mobility is my best test. I've been there a good part of the morning, then did housework {well more than I usually do} ironing etc and then went out at 5.45 to a meeting.....got home at 8.45pm I'm just starting to feel achey now...my lower back.....I'm due a couple of pain killers.....they are all out of kilter today because I took the first ones at 6am {early appointment LOL} Anyway thats it....feel it has done some good this week....we'll see what next week brings
Love
Hileena

    sounds like a good plan for testing out the effectiveness of it. Not suprised you are tired and achy now sounds like you had a long and busy day! Are you having 6 treatments in all?

    I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

    I think it is something that builds in its effectiveness - and ten minutes walking before pain is no bad thing, hileena. I think it might be working for you, which is wonderful. You sound as tho you had a busy day and if you are only achy well, that is not too bad. I wish you well. DD
    Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Speedy,
    not sure how many treatments.....he ws dashing to a meeting and said I'll see you next week...thats the last appointment I have actually arranged so we'll see what he says next week. A few more needles this time and 40mins instead of 30 mins....So much for my walk today...Its freezing solid here {cold like that makes me sore even when I'm inside never mind out walking} Its 10.45am and peiple are still scrapping their cars....Going to the Metro Center this afternoon.....I'll walk a bit there but even people with nothing wrong with them find it a dreadful floor to walk on.
    Chris...Hi glad its helpoing your neck and yes it does sound like a promising start.
    Thanks Julie.
    DD I suppose thats not bad 10 mins....but before my THR which was 1 yr ago next month.....I could walk quite far...no scooter, no stick etc....All that had happened was that I stopped for a few more coffees {and rests } than normal LOL My excuse for coffee and to go from that to 10mins seemed quite drastic and made me wish I had never had the THR...I'll keep going and walk farther bit by bit!!!! Roll on the spring when I can get out for walks {pleasant ones}
    Love
