Hi
I had my bone scan nearly 2 weeks ago to see if my THR prosthesis is loose. I was told by the scan people it would be reported on the next working day, but the secretary told me it would be a lot longer. Impatient as ever ( ) I rang her again today and was told ther results are back ( but she wasn`t allowed to give over phone) and she would print them off for my records and arrange a clinic appointment to discuss the results.
So I am on post am on watch again!!
I`m quite nervous of the results. My thigh, hip and groin pain haven`t improved , but I am keeping up with the physio.
Hope everyone is doing ok xx

Hi Nearly
good to see you
I am not so bad thanks.
Ok we on post watch are we? I will be hoping that it is with you asap so you can put an end to this not-knowing and hopefully the pain too.
Love

Hi Toni
Thanks for your reply, and glad you are not too bad at the moment.
I would be grateful for any extra eyes to do `Post watch`
I am keen to know what the bone scan found and if it does mean a revision or something surgical to remedy it, at least I`ll know what I`m dealing with (although i`ll not like it!) Its the not knowing that drives me mad (well, madder!)
Take care x

Hi NB, hope you get some answers soon....

I used to be a radiographer and completely understand your frustrations (part of the reason i changed career).
Scans often take a mimimum of 2 weeks to be reported and even then consultants like to look for themselves and draw their own conclusions!
Very frustrating!
I hope things are going ok ... seems lots of 'pretend joints' are testing us!!
x0 -
Thanks Tony
,I am keeping an eye out for the posty, he will think he has a stalker!
Thanks Tracy
I hope you get your results soon too. Let me know how you get on
and Miss_l
I hope you get to see your consultant soon so you can discuss your problem with your `pretend joint`. They are certaintly giving us the run around, just a pity I am not up to chasing it!!

Well, I caught the elusive postman!! And my appointment is 3rd February. The letter was dated the same day as I rang up to chase the results......funny that!!
So I am waiting again, but for a day not a post man!!
Feeling nervous now....
Pocket duty would be really appreciated that day xxx

Hi NB
Count me in for pocket duties on the 3rd... will bring peppermint creams and fudge with me in case we have a long wait.
Hope the results are helpful and provide all the info necessary for the ortho to decide on what needs/ doesn't need to be done.
Your bound to be nervous NB.... but lots of us will be with you helping you to remain calm..
(((hugs)))

Hi, I hope everything goes well for you and I'll be thinking of you! I was just going to say that Feb is a long time to wait, then I looked at the date. Not too long now, although if you're like me any time is too long!
Take care, lots of love Sue xxxx0 -
Hi NB
Good to see you got the letter and don't have too long to wait now. Hope it does go well for you on the 3rd and isn't as scary as you imagine. Don't forget the big pockets for us all, it could be quite crowded.

Hi
Thanks Iris, Sue and Chris,
Good to know I`ll have company! I will dig out my coat with the biggest pockets then
I just need to sort the time off from work, which shpuld be no problem. They are as keen as me to see what is going on.
Thanks again x

Keep a space for me in that pocket ... will bring the coffee!!
So pleased you have got an apt, i was offered one for feb 19th which is the day i fly to Norway and as a result have to wait until the 20th April as apts wouldn't giev me anything closer!
Feel i may need to get the physio to call ...

Hi Miss_l
Norway? I`m sooo jealous! April seems a way away to wait. Its typical that the appointment came so near your trip. I would see if you could get a cancellation or something.
Hi Barbara,
Egg sandwiches?? I will put a peg in my pocket then for my nose!!
NB0 -
I'm soooo excited!
Were cruising around the arctic circle and then down the coast of norway Hoping to catch a sneaky peak of the Northern lights! Can hardly sleep for excitment and still have a month to go!
I've tried to chage it but they say targets mean new pt's get seen first and as im a follow up i dont get priority!
Hmmmph.
Think your pocket will be the nearest i get to an apt!
x0 -
Hi NB, count me in for pocket duties, will bring large flask of tetley tea and some jammy dodgers....
Miss_l, Norway trip sounds great, I would love to see the northern lights.... It is so fascinating..
You must let us know about it when you get back...
Make sure you wrap up well, arthur is in cahoots with cold weather you know!! :eek:Me-Tony
