Mein Micra ist kaput.

I don't know the Japanese for 'My Micra is broken' so the Cherman will have to suffice. I think it's the battery - when I turn the key the lights on the dashboard flash like crazy, the doors rapidly lock and unlock but the engine will not turn over. My belovéd Daisy is broken. Je suis sad. DD

Thank you boys, so helpful. Tink? Bless you. Mr DD is insistent on having a go tonight - knowing my bloody luck she will purr into life for him, but we won't achieve much as he won't be home until 8.15, then we have to have dinner, then clear up, then humira stabbing, but I guess he just has to prove to himself that the little lady wife isn't being that stupid and that yes, the car won't work. I have a back-up plan: tomorrow I shall sweetheart my neighbours into helping me out , and I know they will. Time for a new battery - lucky, lucky Daisy! (Wish it was all I needed for meself.) My Micra is broken translated to Japanese is 'My Micra is broken' as they all seem to speak very good English. So I have been reliably informed.Joseph0

Get a decent battery, don't get a cheap one you gets what you pay for DD, £45 should get a hald decent one I'd think, and remeber the higher the AMP rating the better it will be in general and the longer it will crank the car over.0

I will get whatever she needs and the best that I can afford. (which is two double AAs at the moment!) I use a local motorists' supply place, not a chain: the chaps in there are very helpful, kind, informative and knowledgeable, and I am certain will give me the right advice. They always have before. Hey! Thank you, that's almost enough power methinks (she is only a little car, after all). Nope, Mr DD has announced he will work at home tomorrow so I hope I can grab him at some point during daylight hours so that he can sort things for me. I'll do the meth stabbing bright and early (what a way to start your day, NOT) then that's me free until late afternoon when work beckons. That's the plan, anyway. I do need my car - but at least I can use his tomorrow for the blood tests and dropping my prescription off at the docs. Oh, the glamour. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Too much info, DD.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

To do the flaming car! Thanks stickywicket, one of today's rare grins was prompted by you - but then you have that effect on me, don't you?
tjt6768? I am hugely envious. I am also proud to report that I did not swerve into the Fat Cat on the way back from the butchers. This woman deserves a medal for 'going without'. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
LOL.. I will assume that the fat cat is your local and not some reference to the obese and rotund feline that is giving me dirty looks at the minute cos I stopped stroking him! Haha
Envious, you don't know the mother inlaw  :???:
