I haven't actually been diagnosed with arthritis but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this: sometimes when im walking mt knees sometimes feel like my bones are all rubbing against each other, kind of a grinding? It's only sometimes.. I can't really explain it.. and its not usually sore but its really irritating and I feel like I can't walk properly?

Thanks, Lauren xx

    Hi
Sounds like it could be osteoarthritis I suffer from the condition and on my last but one appt my GP told me that he believed following examination, that Ihad it in my knees too as there was grinding. I have trouble walking anyway due to back and hip, you might find that you dont have it all the time.

My knees grind more than a gangster rappers girlfriend in a nightclub! LOL
I've got osteo arthur in both... Mine clunk, click every trip..
Also when the knee is relaxed, if I press down on my kneecaps they feel as though they have weird bubbles under them... Lol
I'm going to the ortho soon hopefully, pretty sure they both need cleaning out as I have a lot of calcium deposits in them..

Let us know how you go on...

    Hi Lauren,

I don't have arthritis in my knees, although in my feet, it feels like the bones are grinding against the floor. Your knees sound painful though.

All the best of luck seeing the orthopaedics. I hope they can give you some answers. Have you seen a rheumatologist yet?

    Sophie :)

No, this is the first time i've been referred by my GP! He thinks it's more likely to be a 'mechanical' problem.

    Thankyou:)

they may recommend an arthroscopy, I've had a fair few over the years, it is done by keyhole so not to invasive... I hope you don't need one but just trying to reassure you... Not doing so well am I? LOL
Oh I have such a way with words  :lol:

Don't frighten yourself, Lauren! I think it might be spelled crepitus - the dictionary defines it as the grating noise from the ends of fractured bones rubbing together. I know your bones are not fractured, but if they are not as they shold be there could be debris in the joint. Rememeber tho, hon, I ain't a doc! DD
