Hello you lovely people.
Sat here with tears running down my face.
Thanks you so much for your kind words
We've just been out for a sinfully lovely cream tea- got kinda used to them in Devon last week. (Had TWO)
Hubby's gone to bed as usual ( sleeps about 16 hours a day since the stroke bless him-he's lovely)
Don't regret one single minute. And they said it wouldn't last!!!!
I was just 16 and hubby was 20.
Thank you all again.
Take care.

That's wonderful, daylily. You were very young, but I think your husband knew a good thing when he saw it0 -
Congratulations on your anniversary Daylily . I am sure you have many Happy memories of when you married in 1970 and it feels like yesterday.

Thank you Joan,
Oh boy were we cool! Like all the girls then it was leather hot pants that showed my 'cheeks' and tight, tight skinny rib jumpers. (36DD then), and hubby had bright coloured shirts and flared trousers. Thought we were the bees knees. :P
Had a good life, not much money but loads of laughs over the years.

It's the laughs with (and occasionally at) each other that are important, they fuel a marriage like nothing else. (well, respecting each other is a huge bit too but I think laughter wins!) DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

This is a special THANK YOU to everybody who took the time and trouble to reply.
I don't find it easy to talk to people but I'm getting there on the forum-getting to know individuals is making it easier to talk.
The forum has been a real lifesaver this year with hubby being so ill and I'm sure you will be there for everyone in the future.
Many thanks again all.
Take care.

DD my friend, we are still laughing despite all hubby's troubles.
It has taken me nearly 4 years to come to terms with his illness but now I'm more relaxed about it we're still giggling. (usually about 3am when he thinks it's morning or wants some chocolate)
Your support has been appreciated greatly.
Take care

The fact that you can giggle at 3am speaks volumes of your love for him. He is one very, very lucky man to have you by his side. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
