    Hi Elizabeth

Saw an ex colleague with RA yesterday she took three course of anibiotics to get her infection under control - the poor lass thought she was dying. Carried on with her mtx and humira throughout.

SO very glad you have an appt and it sounds worth it to see a lovely GP.

    Take care

    Love

Oh thanks Toni. It really helps to know its not just me. I do wonder about carrying on with meds but they usually advise not to. I used to be more care free and not take much notice of rules but have learnt a lot from this forum.

    Hi Elizabeth,

Sorry that you're still struggling with the miserable chest infection.

My OH is subject to repeated bouts but if there's no improvement after the first course of antibiotics the doc sends a sputum swab to the lab so that the infection can be specifically identified and the appropriate antibiotic prescribed, rather than just trying to hit it with a broad spectrum one.

Maybe your lovely doc will be of the same mind?

Hope you get well soon

    Thanks Cherry and Chris,

I have been given another dose of anti biotics
. I do look in all the time.It is the lower half of my body that gives me jip so walking, using knees are the worst thing for me at the moment. But I can rest and look on the laptop if the kids will let me,
I cannot wait to get back on the meds.I have upped my sulfasalazine but it is no substitute for MTX and Humira.

    Dear Elizabeth

Let's hope that these antibiotics do the trick and you can get back on to your meds again. It must seem like forever for you since you stopped taking them.

I hope your weekend is calm :smile:

    Ha Elna,

Reasonably calm so far. It does indeed seem like ages since I had my meds. My Humira is sitting in the fridge looking a bit sorry for itself.

    All the best

    Hi Elizabeth,

    Sorry i am late.

glad you have another course and maybe a different type? I keep having a cold, endless its got the throat, lungs and sinuses and they gave me 3 courses and then said it was viral and would have to fight off its self. i have upped the mtx and not come off it at all... odd isn;t it how different docs have different idea?

I really hope it will work for you and they can get you back on the drugs that work for you soon. leaving you a (((( )))) and a hope flower. Cris xx
