I have been put on the dawn system as my doctors cannot do my bloods. My Doctors have said they will do my blood pressure. I will miss going to hospital as it was all done in one place. I will have to trek between the two once a month. I am pleased they found a drug which works as i have been a difficult one to get the right drug for so can relax a bit on that point and my blood pressure is right for now. also i am pleased to say they have reduced my depression tablets down to 10mg i hope to be off em for good by may. I am feeling loads better that way. thanks for all your support x joanne

I am a little muddled - what is the dawn system, is it your GPs that will do your BP but not your bloods or the other way around? When I was on cyclosporin I had to have my BP checked and the hospital path lab wouldn't do that, so I saw my GPs practice nurse and she did both sets of things on the same visit. Could that work for you too? DD

My doctor said he cannot monitor my bloods the drug im on there so i still have to go to hospital.i get my blood done there nothing else. called the dawn system. I will still have to visit the consultant once a year.
My doctor has agreed to to my blood pressure so now i have to go once month to doctors and hospital between the two a pain.

The systems vary so much between areas, I guess. At my hospital you can turn up at the pathology lab with your blood forms, you take a ticket (as at a deli counter in a supermarket) and one of the many phlebotomists will take your blood when your number comes up. I personally go at 5.10pm on a day to suit me (they shut at 5.15 and it really hacks them off, which is immensely satisfying). What they will not do, however, is BP, which is why I used to go to my GP's practice and see the nurse - she would happily do both tests. I must be lucky down here. Anyhoo, good luck with it suncatcher - and I apologise for forgetting to congratulate you on the further reduction of the depression meds - that is good news indeed. I wish you well. DD

    Hi Joanne,

Nice to see you! You been awol too long by the way.

Tis a bit of a pain and well couldn't the hospital just do both? Mind it would depend how far they both are and do you have them done the same week or more staggered?

Hope they could make it a little easier for you but at least they are keeping an eye on you flower. (((( )))) and good again to see you. Cris xx

    Hi Joanne

Sorry I missed your post

Good to see you. It was probably easier for you having it all done in one place wasn't it? Mind I am glad all is going so well.

As for the depression meds - you have done well!! Now it won't be very long and we will be out in our gardens again

    Love

    Toni xx
