HI all
well I know we had a thread about reducing steroid tablets (prednisolone) but I can't find it  so I've had to start a new one.
I have been on 5mg since the middle of November, having started to reduce from 10mg.
Today I have been given the go-ahead to try reducing again - by 1mg a month. SOunds like it should be easy ..... but experience of postings on here tells me it might be anything but
So .... fingers are crossed that I don't :-
start a huge joint flare,
start itching again (from the leflunomide rash)
Experience worse side effects from the Infliximab.
:?: why am I celebrating this joyous news :?:
how's everyone else getting on with the joyous reduction plans?
Wonky xxxx

Hope you're keeping ok right now & not aching too much in this cold & windy weather?

Hi Wonky
Sorry I can't help with this as you know, but I really hope all goes well for you. However I do like a bit of a challenge especially at this hour. Why I am still up?? I ran out of spoons days ago!!!
The thread you were looking for was by dreamdaisy called Steroid reduction plan. Sadly it is so busy on here, it has dropped a few pages. Last used on 21st Jan. I will bump it up tomorrow if you can't find it as there may be some info from both DD and others which can help. Am sure people will call in here when they see you and hopefully DD will let us know how she is doing too?
Hope the tummy a bit better at the mo. Hope you do get some sleep. Take care
Gentle hugs ((( ))))
love

bless you Chris - and yes, why are you up at this time? .... though I think tomorrow is a duvet day? if so you're allowed a late pass (or should that be an early morning pass )
I must have missed the thread with this colour change again - did go back for most of Jan I thought ..... began to think I'd imagined it!!!
Hope you're not too achey after working, and that you enjoy your duvet day.
THe tum is fine now thanks, though probably because I've halved the Naproxen, which is ok for the short term ...... am only going to use the 500 when I absolutely have to .......... & we'll see how it goes.
right, I'd better think about going to bed soon ..... not sure I'll sleep though, with the howling wind we have at the moment
hugs & I really will get round to emailing you properly soon!

Hi Wonky,
Oh I got everything crossed for you and just remember I was on 35 a day and came off them relatively quickly so..... mind they didn't agree with me but did do the job....
Leaving you an anti- problem steroid reduction draft and a huge ((((( ))))) and a hope your asleep..... I know who has the lump hammer and she ain't afraid to use it
Really hope it will all go smoothly and you get off them with no problems flower. Love Cris xxx0 -

I think the thread you are referring to was mine - it was around the beginnning of the year, do you want me to dig it up for you? Don't assume the worst - a nice, slow steady reduction should (hopefully) result in a fairly smooth journey, but I think I am right in saying that the lower the dose the harder it can be for the body to adjust. You may well find yourself alternating doses for a while, until your body gets used to the idea that it should be making this stuff for itself (oh you can just hear it, can't you? 'Whaddaya mean? I gotta go it? Me? YOU ARE 'AVIN A LARF. Just gimme the tablets, you silly moo.' Well, that's what mine says!) I will find it and PM you the details. DD (now on 13.5, and wondering whether to go to 12.5 or 13 on the next reduction date, which is next Wednesday - decisions, decisions, hell wonky, we knows how to live! )
Hey! You found it!Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
