Morning all
I went for a follow up appt with a Rheumy yesterday afternoon as I went to see them in December due to muscle and joint pain and tiredness and had some more blood taken and my hips x-rayed.
I have 2 diagnosis - OA in both hips and fibromyalgia.
I already knew about OA in both my kness as got diagnosed with that in September.
The OA was the harder of the 2 to hear. I'm 40 and it's pretty advanced but (in thre rheumy's words) I'm far too young for a replacement of any kind. So I have to lose weight, exercise etc which is quite difficult with fibro apparently so I'm caught between a rock and a hard place.
Also as fibro makes pain amplified she's keen to get me on some really strong meds that I'm worried about as the side effects could worsen some other symptoms I have. Off to see the GP about that soon.
But, I'm trying to stay positive and not dive into a pile of chocolate and biscuits!

Hi Nelly, as a fellow OA sufferer from an early age, it ain't fun.. Especially to get the fybro on top of that, I am not to up on what that entails etc but I hope you get things under control..
You have the right attitude anyways... Keep on smiling, don't let the bugger get ya down
