I loathe low pressure weather - I am a severely grumpy old mare today, thanks to the moulds in the air, but the arthritis is its usual foul self. I think the colder weather has a greater effect on OAers than the immune-system types, yes? At least it isn't cold, so we are saving on heating! DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I welcome the cold weather! Although I love the sunshine it sends my RA into free fall.
I can cope with the OA during the wintertime with the jolly old Deep Heat, Olbas Oil, Hotties and blankies! I wouldn't like to 'fess up about our gas bill though
As is often said "We're all different" !!0 -
I'd agree on the damp.
Cold is fine if its dry (we got down to -18C in Dec)
And warm is fine again if its dry, but damp air and low pressure is horrible.
I want to move somewhere warm and dry but my OH likes it here too much.0 -
I do hope the lovely bath and 'you time' helped and you feel much better today.
Love

Hi Maria,
Nice to see you and yep this weather isn't helping is it?
We haven't had snow but you know what a bit of a freeze could only help it herei seem to have become a lake dweller and that's not something i was looking to be
This is one of the wettest and dampest places in the UK but the last few years have taken it to extremes...... maybe we will have a better summer for a change cus the hay is rubbish again and that needs at least a months sun to rectify!
leaving you a ((((( ))))) and nicking the bail stuff, don't really like it but it might help
Hope your doing ok by the way and sending you some of the sun Toni promised to bring home.... well will as soon as she sends it meCris xx

Ended up splashing back in so had to turn on my front get to my knees & some how lever myself out of the bath not a pretty sight0 -
I quite often go for a bath when OH here to help me out. Other night he went off down stairs and i thought i would manage myself. Got kind of half way pushed up on my arms and then couldnt move! oh it was agony. I shouted and shouted but kids had tv on and he didnt hear for what seemed like ages. Finally i screamed and he rushed up just in time. All he had to do was support my back while i readjusted my leg! Oh how useless i felt!

Hi Maria,
oh the stuck in the bath thing.... done that so bad I now only have showerswas in it ages and well who you going to call for help in that position cus i know i would have rather have died in it than make a call.... Somethings people just don't need to see in my case not sure i do either either actually
I did get out but never again though i miss them some for sure.... Cris xx
oh and the rain....... still relentless and so waterlogged maybe with a bit of sun on it the lake would warm enough to use it as a bath0 -
We have a wet room shower now but I do miss mi bath.. When we go away to Keilder the lodges have whirlpool baths in them, oh, it's heaven.. As long as I can get myself out again, lol..
This damp weather is starting to really do my head in now, my knees and back are hurting enough without the extra pain.. :x
Roll on the Summer, think it will be on a Wednesday this yearMe-Tony

I'd love to have a wet room, but I do enjoy the isea of an occasional bath.
My OH nearly put his back out once helping me out of the bath. I was having a bad flare up and of course we were in a rented house with no shower. I could hardly support myself at all at the time, so the poor love had to lift almost all my weight trying to get me out. I realised then that if he slipped a disk or something we'd be in Big trouble!0 -
This disease sure knows how to kick your dignity into touch eh? Lol
I really do love the wet room, it is nice to put the shower on full blast and sit in the chair below.. got to have it as hot as you can stand it though... Bliss...Rashine wrote:I'd love to have a wet room, but I do enjoy the isea of an occasional bath.
