anyone got a walk they would recommend - not too long though can't walk too far!

Katie5 - www.go4awalk.com have walks from all over the UK &, when I asked for 'wheelchair walk' suggestions, I found their viewers very helpful.

Bookseverywhere - I'm going to lose a few pounds the hard way - no alcohol/ sweet stuff except at weekends or when out with friends. (Luckily I've got two meals out planned for next week!)

Airwave - I envy you too but I guess it's just for those whose legs are the same length. Last time I tried I nearly dislocated my hip. All power to your lycra shorts. (Why spoil a good image with the truth?)

As for losing weight, I have lost the weight, well some of it, the last stone is taking a while. I don't really think of it as a diet, since its permanent, just leaving out bread, marge, biscuits and cakes and portion control.

I'm now in 36" waist trews which I haven't had for many a year. As for the lycra shorts.......

    8) Its a grin, honest!

Me too, collywobble, I so wanted to see a racy young man in Lycra - but Airwave will do. Any port in a storm. DD

I'm currently exercising my brain, listening to Radio 4's "Brain of Britain" final.

    Best wishes,
    Kevin.

    Lycra shorts! brings back memories.

My hubby did an ironman triathlon a few years ago (my hero) I spent a full day watching lycra clad men swimming, running and cycling oh my god i'll never be the same again - not all competitors were athletically built!

He finished in about 14 hours and i stood watching him the whole time - the next day he was fine but I literally couldn't walk or straighten up was even asked if it was me who had taken part - hubby thought that was hilarious!

Keep up the good work exercise buddies.

The good news/bad news is that cutting out the alcohol/sweet stuff seems to be paying off in that the scales are no longer going up. I can stay off the sweet stuff permanently but I'm one of those who cook for necessity not pleasure and my meals require a glass of something alcoholic to make them a pleasurable experience. Oh well, the weekend's not far off.

Use a smaller glass. Drop the half pint in favour of a small tumbler of red. Still have the satisfaction but at a better quantity. I shall have a small port and brandy tonight - I am streaming with cold. Any excuse! DD

I was given some very gentle exercises by my physio. To be honest, i do more robust exersise at work during a normal working day so I dont bother with the prescribed regime.

Other than that, if I do feel the urge to exercise more then I just go and lie down until the feeling passes, this usually works lol

Good luck to you all in your efforts, keep healthy
