I don't think that it is unusual, my friends mom had both

Hi there,
I think you'll find on here that quite a lot of people have both types of arthritis, or another illness with RA. Myself I started out with RA then osteo then recently fibromyalgia and now maybe sjorgrens syndrome as well as having high blood pressure and asthma. It's not unusual and you'll eventually come to terms with it. Sorry to not be very positive/helpful but the best thing to do is just try to carry on as normal as much as possible, but if things are really bad you can always come on here for help and advice or just to have a good moan, we all do it at some time and everyone understands, that's why this forum is so good, I don't think any of us would manage so well without it.

I know from reading posts on the forum that it is not unusual, but I guess it is unlucky. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Madness
Sorry you have been diagnosed with another of arthurs relatives as if coping with him alone isn't enough.
Just want to wish you luck with the scan
Take care and keep your chin up

Madness, it is quite a shock when you get told you have more than one condition.
I have Ra and Oa. It will take you a while to come to terms with it all.
wishing you well

Hi Madness,
how have you been?
Sorry you had this one hit you. it takes a bit of getting used to but you will get there. Be kind to your self and let it sink in and remember its something you will have had a while and you have coped with as well.
I have 2 types and a 3rd waiting in the wings and its not so bad.... not really.... one is bad the next one isn't much worse is probably a truer way of putting it.
hang in there and what you need is a decent anti inflammatory and some decent pain relief. have they given you any of that yet? ((( ))) Cris x0 -
Hi Madness
Sympathise with you,I also have two types of arthritis.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with RA in the hands (actually I told the doctor what I thought it was and he confirmed it!).Fortunately that's well controlled.
Last year I was diagnosed with OA in the ankle, think we're trying to get the whole set!!Am waiting to see the consultant to see what he will advise.

Hello Madness
Sorry to read your post. I'm lucky arthritis wise in that I "only" have RA but as other peeps have said, you aren't alone.
Thinking of you.

Cris im ok getting through my weight finally stablised at 5 stone 12 acording to my rhmy but gp's scales say lower but im sure it'll sort its self out! Im on 200mg oh hydrox and 15mg of pred and taking co-codomal but thats about it. We will get there in time .. just gotta keep fighting.
Ra is in total flare up, had my hair cut today and the hair dresser had to help me down a small step, pick my bag up, put my coat on for me and open door so i could get in and out .. but at least i had it cut and have a fantastic friendly hairdressing salon!

I too have OA as well as RA. Apparently, the OA was a result of the amount of steroids I was on for the RA!
Best wishes,
