Woo hoo off for a weeks non skiing skiing holiday
All of the husbands family are big skiers so we're off tonight for a week in the alps - everybody keeps asking me if I'm going to ever learn as why would you go skiing if you can't ski- I just look at them with a 'are you crazy, have you seen how difficult I find walking look'
But looking forward to a week with my boys, being cooked for, enjoying swimming, sauna, snowballs, snowmen & hot tub AND no work!!!!
hopefully will return a much less stressed and happy
Yay can't wait!

Wow , sounds wonderful , Chrissie , fully understand your excitement . Surely , they say the apres ski is more fun than the actual skiing . Hope you have a fantastic time and come back feeling happy and relaxed . Jillyb0

Have a wonderful time. I adore the white stuff (at least they have it properly there and can cope with it) it will be enormous fun and a good chance to take some time out and relax. Forget it all for a week and have a grand time. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Enjoy, I'd join you if I could get some insurance. I skied down the slope before xmas, just to prove I could still do something, great fun! I have broken a few bones skiing, hurt a few ligaments and tendons and had a great time.

I'm back....and about the only person in our chalet who didn't leave sporting an injury, ok slight exaggeration but we did have....
broken arm/elbow
busted knee
3 busted thumbs
a fat lip....(my 2yr old sledging  )
and various sprains, scuffs, scratches and bruises
Beautiful sunny weather and lack of recent snowfall meant it was very very icy out
I however stuck to lunching, hot tubs, riding the bubble lift and taking my little one sledging...so no injuries but a slightly larger waistline
The only downers of the trip were my hubby getting his ski's nicked (vvvvv expensive mistake, hopefully we can get something back on insurance) and the flights....
Flying out we never even made Chambray airport ...after circling a few times the pilot came on to say that the transponder and the back up were both not working so we couldn't land as it was too difficult...so we ended up in geneva instead, thankfully our lovely skiing company picked us up from here instead....after we sat on the tarmac for a couple of hours with the airline wondering what to do :x
On the way back we also had a faulty plane which delayed us and then when it got to the end of the runway had to turn back because somebody forgot to shut the hold!!!!! door to door 12hours of travelling and we only went to france, it was very painful
I think I need a holiday

I have no sympathy for self-inflicted injuries, but a twinge of empathy for your little one. I bet the cardiologist nearly infarcted when he realised his skis had gone - carelessness on his part or just the usual level of deviancy by a miscreant? Anyhoo, let's hope the insurance coughs up. I am pleased that you enjoyed yourself - a good break can work wonders (break as in holiday, not busted limb!) It's nice to have you back. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this.
