Hi all,
Yesterday Donna made me rest all day as the pain levels have been through the roof despite the added Buprenorphine patch, that takes me to 30mg as well as oral meds!
Today I am in less pain and was very pleased, however Donna said I had to rest as if I did things I would end up in pain!
Aaarrgghhhh, stupid resting, it is getting tedious now!! lol
I hope you are all as pain free as possible and you have a good Sunday

Forgot to say my bloods came back as normal and so it continues to be a mystery as to why the pain is so bad this long after TKR0

Hi zechariah
I know how you feel, I still overdo things even after 2 half years , I do hate sitting about, my OH says I am like a yoyo , I have to be doing something.
I do hope you get some answers very soon, and then hopefully you can get some relief.
I wish you well with everything

Hi Zec
I agree that a couple of days resting can definitely help but probably best not to do that for too long as we do need to keep our muscles working the best we can. Too much rest may not be too good for this reason. I am happy for you that today you feel in less pain.
It is always good to hear from you,

Hi Iam glad thatyou feel better today than yesterday. I am learning that I have to mix rest with activity although too much or too little is no good either - Its hard to get the mix right, I have chronic pain so I am happy when the meds dull the pain and it allows me to be as normal as I can.
Enjoy the rest but don't be inactive for too long or you'll pay for it LOL

Rest is important, very important. 'Active' rest is possible - you can read a good book (or a bad one), do some puzzles, watch telly, listen to music but the important thing is that your muscles are not working. Recovery time helps. I am currently resting, with the rugby, and the laptop ('cos I like my new laptop cushion!) Scratch the rugby - Mr DD is being an a**e with the remote, we now have lisping mockney chef. Grrrrrrrr. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi zec
I am glad donna makes you rest, It does help.
It is boring though I agree.
Hope you feel better for it in a day or two, and then just pace yourself with rests inbetween
Take care

Hi Zec,
I am pleased you had a rest day as it certainly seems to have helped. I know it is so frustrating waiting for results and then not getting any answers. Hopefully the search will continue for you and by a process of elimination the answer will come. Sometimes you need just to give yourself permission to let go for a day or two.

It's a fine balance between resting and moving, Zec. So the bloods are normal. What next?
Speedy
DD - a laptop cushion??? Intriguing. So you no longer sit in your study to use your laptop then.
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
Hey Zec!
Totally know where you are coming from. Was told today I need to 'slow down' and 'rest'... which is pretty much totally never going to happen as I've got far too much to do...! :green0
