hello

i know someone who approaching his 65th birthday and has been getting D L A does it stop when you get to 65 or does it continue.

he will also be getting his state pension.

can you shed and light as i thought it did.

    No DLA is for life

    I know if you claim once you are over 65 you don't get it, you get attendance allowance, or something like that..

    If you apply for DLA and are granted it prior to becoming 65, then it continues after you become 65 for the rest of the period granted.

    If you don't get DLA and are older than 65 you apply for Attendance Allowance.

    Neither DLA nor AA is counted as taxable income, but a pension usually is.
