To be honest, I don't remember. It's been nearly four years since that malarkey took the hint and burgered off and I didn't keep any records as to whether that affected and/or triggered flares. I know I felt pain more keenly at certain times - probably around ovulation and just before the onset. I am sorry valval, the boys have it easy, don't they? DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Val...
I'm one of the lucky ones ... i had hysterectomy 2 yrs ago..so do not suffer with it... i do still ovulate,(have 1 ovary left) so can get pain from that but not noticed any specific pattern ....xxTracyxx0 -
Yup, I'm always worst in the lead up to that time of the month
Thats how my OH knows to stay away from me as he tends to suffer from my PMT!
That and I had my worst flare up to date after my son was born so I'm quite happy blaming the hormones.0 -
oh well three days down can not be much longer till get back to normal lol what ever that isval0

From what I understand RA is estrogen based, that's why more women suffer than men and why we're prone to flares during puberty, childbirth, menopause and monthly periods, the hormone swings of our life.Love, Legs x

probably said this before, but teh surgeon who did my back said that his women patients Do get more pain at that time....something to do with being more sensitive to pain.
Add in the hormones and what do we expect
