Just got back from the Doctors and he is sending me for a hip xray, also have to have more bloods done. He has stopped me taking the allopurinol as they dont appear to be working and he has given me naprosyn for the pain.
I should be getting the results back in 2 weeks.

I've been wondering how you got on. Do you mean naproxen? I was on that, but I think I have a different form of this pestilence: I hope they are more effective for you. All the right things are being done, BoleynBlue, it is just a matter of time and waiting. I get my bloods done every month now, a huge improvement on every fortnight - it's all part of the rich tapestry that is arthritis! I wish you wll, let us know how things go. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi
Just want to say good luck and I hope the results are good.
I hate the waiting, but it will soon pass.
Please let us know how you get on.

Hi bolynblue
Hope you don't have to wait too long for your x ray. I have OA in my hips and have been on naproxen for a long time. In my case I find it really does help with the pain and possible inflammation going on in there and keeps me more mobile. It can upset your stomach though so do let your doc know if it doesn't suit you. I take a stomach protector tab as well and have had no problems. Your doc sounds like he is looking at every possible with the bloods aswell so I hope you soon get some pain relief and support.
take care, let us know how you get on.

Hi Boneyblue..
Sounds like your having all the right tests done..
Hopefully you won't have to wait too long...

Hi Boleynblue
thanks for the update - as travlue says it does sound as though they are doing the right tests.
I hpe the results come back very soon and then you'll know and have a 'plan' as such as to what can be done to help.
Good luck
Love

Thanks for the replys.
Blood tests and xray are now done, the new painkillers are not helping too much yet but at least things are moving in the right direction.0 -
If you mean the naproxen I found it utterly useless for the pain and the inflammation but it did give me wonderful oral thrush. It does, however, work well for chris7, so hang on in there and give it a chance to be absorbed into your system: my fingers are crossed for you! DDHave you got the despatches?
