Work...grrrrr

Well i feel a bit annoyed at the moment with work..
Most of you know i have been off work since sep with joint pain and swelling and was diagnosed through bone scan last week having RA and OA..
I have been seeing occy health regulary. Have had various meetings and been keeping my supervisor and occy health up to date with any news.
Last week when i got my results i rang and read the letter to occy health.. she said there was no point seeing me till th emiddle of march, i would have been on hdroxy for a month then... i might be able to say wether i have any benefits or not.. this was fine with me.. i also rang to tell my supervisor, she was off so i spoke to my manager who was all nicey nicey..
As i started my tablets tuesday i rang to speak to my supervisor to tell her i had strarted, left a message and recieved a phone call today asking me about my resuts last week... again i read the letter .. explained i was being referred to hydrotherapy and being assessed by occupational therapy.. being honest as you do.. i then told her i recieved an appointment from occy health for 16th march.. she said she would pass this info on to manager... fine i thought..
A few hours later i recieve a phonecall from my supervisor requesting that i attend an appointment for occy health tom.. i needed to ring someone to confirm it.. when i got off the phone i was like???? anyway i rang this lady who was really snotty and said any problems i had i needed to adress with my manager, so i confirmed the appointment for 11'15 and rang my supervisor back.. i was fuming by this point.. i said to my supervisor is my meeting being brought forward because i have told you about the difficulties i am facing at the moment and you have decided that you need to get me assessed to get rid of me.. she said no Caroline thought that march was too far away???? so i said they will not be able to tell you anything different from when they saw me a few weeks ago.. she said she was just passing the message on..
I really wish they could just be straight with me instead of beating around the bush...Seems like they are not even going to give me the chance to see if the hydroxy works... i think that is unfair.. i know they are loosing money while i am still employed there, but surely they should give me a chance/...
I believe that tomorrow occy health will tell me that my manager wants me to be assessed for my capability to work... i know i am not fit and so does she.. this will then give them what they need to get rid of me due to being incapable... grrrrr... i am not leaving on my own accord they gonna have to drag me out lol.. just so frustrating....
Thanks for reading...

All i know is that i'm not giving up my job.. and i shall let her know that tom..

    Hi Tracy,
Good luck with tomorrow. What a frustrating day for you. Sound as if the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing there. I bet they are just covering themselves and will recall you in March anyway. Sorry you must be so frustrated with it all. These meds take time to get into your system. Take the leaflet with you and show them the timescale.
I hope you manage to get some rest tonight.
I will be thinking of you.

    Jeepers Tracy

They really are messing you about there! Yes it must be so frustrating and annoying but you are playing by the rules and keeping them informed so hold your ground and don't be bullied out of a job. Cover for work is there problem not yours you have until now been a valuable employee so don't forget that. I hope all goes well. Hang in there, I will be thinking of you.
    take care

just what you need another app. but stand up to them do not let them make you leave it takes 3 months for hydroxy to kick in to a greater degree i felt much better quicker but not well enough to say how much more would improve even given a month not long enough why do people think there quick fix for this but tell them when the right meds are found you can live near normal life you just have to balance things. good luck hope it goes better than you feel it will val
will be in your pocket just in case you need us

    Hi tracy,
i hope the meeting has gone better than you anticipated. I also hope the sickness has gotten a bit better for you. How unfair of them to demand a meeting when your obviously in no shape to be thinking about work at the mo.
Employers only think of themselves. I have/had three while not well and not one of them cares one bit about me. Just wether i can work. WHich is NO at the moment.!
All the best and i send you support and hugs.

I am so angry. I dragged myself to the appointment feeling sick and Generally feeling rough. As I got there a lady was locking up. Can I help you she said. . I informed her my manager had arranged me an appointment. She told me they didn't hold appointment there fri morning. She told me to come in and sit down and looked on computer. My appointment was in worcester which is 45 mins to an hour away in a car. . I don't drive and wouldn't know how to have got there by bus. . I explained they never told me it was worcester and explained everything that happened yesterday. . She was very annoyed that they were not listening to the advice of my occy health nurse and that a decision cannot be made about my employment until I have tried treatment to see if it works. She said she would be sending an email to my manager stating this. My OH was not happy and wanted to ring up lol. Persuaded him not too. I am happy occy health are supporting me just wish work would just back off lol.

Oh Tracy, what a mess I think that you are lucky having people supporting you like your occy health person. What happens next then - do you just go to the appt in March?

oh my god Tracy what an awful morning you had. I cant believe what they did its so mean of them wasting your time especially when you are feeling so poorly and have been worrying all night about it - just plain cruel. the lady you spoke to sounds a bit more sympathetic and I do hope she emails your manager and gives them what for!

have a good evening and let us know how you get on.

    big hug

I have just woke up. Listened to my answer machine messages. And low and behold there was a message left at 10.57 from the snotty lady from occy health who gave me the appointment asking me to call her back as soon as. . You think she was trying to tell me soothing about the appointment?? Well she left it bit late. I haven't rang back. I do not have the energy to be saying what I want to say. . I done my bit. . .

Oh Tracy, what a palaver. I hope they have rung up the person you saw this morning and got an ear full. Well the snotty one will just have to wait until next week gives her some time to stew in her own juices for getting it wrong.
    Gentle hugs,

Traluvie what a time you've had of it. My heart goes out to you.
There is no way they can make you leave without you agreeing to it. It's far too soon for you or them to say how the medication is going to help you as it can take a few months to kick in as you know.
I work in the NHS and felt when I was diagnosed with PA and was in hospital and off sick, I thought that OH felt I would'nt get back into work and that I should try for retirement on sick grounds. I stuck it out and responded to the methotrexate and have been able to keep my job although I've cut my hours. They've also helped by restricting the duties I perform.
I hope that you do respond to your meds and that OH continue to support you. The important thing is that it's really early days and the less stress you are under at the moment the better it will be for you. Try to rest as much as you can, you'll find lots of support on here.

Thanks Rita.. The NHS you would think would be more understanding . . My manager just wants me out and she also mentioned ill health retirement. . But I will not be making that decision until I have given my meds chance to work. I'm glad you were able to return. I really hope I am able to. . I miss having a good old chat with the patients. . Lol

    Hi Traluvie,

I am sorry your boss is being so unsupportive. How ridiculous to not listen to occupational health and wait and see how you get on with your new meds. Serves them right that you could not make the appointment and they get their wrists slapped - but how unnecessary for you to be put the stress and a wasted journey because they did not even let you know about the full details of the appointment. It is your employers responsibility to help with transport, so if they try and send you miles away for the appointment again - then make sure you get a taxi at their expense and don't go struggling on the bus.

I'm having work hassles too, it is stressful and makes me so cross when we are doing our best and willing to work ...
