    Hi dewisfamily

It seems it can be a bit of a lottery as to who gets these awards, inspite of who deserves them but it can't hurt to try and can ease some financial worries. I know the forms are a bit daunting. I haven't claimed myself yet but I think those who have may suggest you get help with filling the form in from the CAB or other agencies. They seem to know how best to state your case and will have a chat with you and do the forms for you. Am sure others will offer advise when they see you here.
    Good luck with it.

It is very difficult to claim nowadays, in the sense of being awarded any money on your first attempt. All you can do is fill in the form, basing your answers on a bad day, photocopy it and then send it in. If you don't ask, you won't get: if you do ask, you won't necessarily get straight away, but you might on appeal. I wish you well. DD

    Hi
You get them and fill them in, like someone said get cab to help you, you must put your worst day down, and like DD say its very inportant to photo copy the form for further ref.
    Good Luck with it

    Hi Lewisfamily

I suggest you Do SEND OFF FOR THE FORM (OR DOWNLOAD ONE FORM THE DIRECTGOV website) Sorry caps lock

BUT get CAB to bhelp you fill it in - do not do it yourself - in order to maximise you chances of success.

Yes definately get CAB to help. They are familiar with these forms and will know how to write about any difficulties you have in a way the DLA will understand.

Remember to make sure your gp is up to date with all your difficulties as they use your gp report. If you haven't told your gp he/she can't write it intheir rePort. I type up a list periodically of my day to day problems and my gp scans it into my file. He says it's most useful when filling in reports for dwp or insurance etc...
    Good luck x
