I had my shoulder replacement on 9th February and was released from hospital on 11th Feb. So far so good. Yes its painful but it all seems to be working ok and its bearable,
Thanks for all your good wishes it helps a lot to know that others are thinking of you.
I'm looking forward to summer so I can show off another scar to match the knee replacement done 7 years ago. My husband calls me Metal Mickey. LOL.

Wow, that was a quick escape from hospital! Are you having the stitches out soon? Good that is working ok. The pain should be mainly from the op and muscles that aren't used to working - so should start to improve. That deep bone pain should thankfully be gone. Do you have physio exercises to do?

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.

Wow, Caroldeeg, very pleased that all's good for you.

You've definitely given me good vibes for my "threatened" shoulder replacements.

Thank you so much and I hope you get better and better every day Metal Mickey xxx

I have metal clips instead of stitches and they come out on wednesday. I am going to the hospital for Physio tomorrow (Monday). I have exercises to do, Some of them are easy but some of the arm stretch exercises hurt a lot. I know I'm using muscles that have been out of use for some years but they hurt a lot.

But Summer is coming, one day soon I can lose the sling and cut up my own dinner for a change, poor old Geoff took me out for lunch today, lovely meal but he had to cut mine up for me as I cant.
He is a real pet and I couldn't have done this without him.
I will keep u posted as to how it goes
Thanks for all the good wishes

    Hi Carol,

Glad to hear it's gone well I'm sure the exercises will gradually get easier and less painful.

When I go to a restaurant I ask the chef to cut up my meat in the kitchen, you could try the same but ask them to cut it all up. They're always happy to oblige.

    Good luck for tomorrow

Have had the clips out. all 28 of them, It looks red and a bit lumpy in one place but hopefully it will settle down,
Exercises are going ok. some of them hurt but I'm a determined old girl and won't give up.
But summer is coming and 10 days in sunny Spain is my reward for all this.
Thanks for all your good wishes. & to anyone else who is thinking of having a shoulder replacement, Go for it. Its certainly not as painful as having a knee done, or as dibilitating.
