Hi all,
I have been thinking back to my consultant apt and realised that they took bloods. Never really stated what for. I have back and leg pain and it could be from arthritis in lower spine. What are they likely to be testing for? I was so disheartened and up set at the apt i never thought to ask!
I like needles though so didnt bother me giving it.

I honestly don't know - could it be for RA? The only way to find out is to contact the rheumatology department and ask for the consultant's secretary's number, then you can ring and ask her to find out for you. That's what I would do anyway. Let us know what you discover! DD

I don't know either sorry.......do you have another appointment soon?

Perhaps you could ring rheumatology as suggested by dd and hope they can answer your question.

    good luck

All sorts of stuff there Seamonkey from iron levels to rheumatoid factor. they want to eliminate as much as they can.

If there si anything 'wrong' they call you usually much quicker tahn the 10 days they say.

My ex MIL panicked when she got a call and it was only high Cholestral!!

As the others have said, they will be testing for all kinds of things, so that they can give you the correct mediction. I know its silly to say try not to worry, but a lot of the things they test for are ruled out, which is what they want to do as their are so many different kinds of arthritis. Love Sue
