    Hello Pat

Just lost the message I typed so will try again

So sorry you are feeling so rough at the moment. RA is a real *%**$*$**! isn't it? I'm struggling as well at the moment so I do understand. Can you try to think positively about the meth? I know it's a scary thought but it's got to be worth a try I reckon if there's even the slightest chance it will help you to feel better than you do now. You never know, it might really help - and if not, well there are lots of other things out there to try. I really hope that it's not long until you see the doc and can move things forward. Not sure this was a very cheery message but I am thinking of you and please know you aren't alone with what you are going through.

    Love Tilly xxx

    Hi dear Pat,

I am sorry you are feeling so down, upset and fragile. Many people on the forum are on metho and it helps them and some of the side effects that you may have, can diminish after a few weeks. It is scary trying new meds and I hate it myself so know what you are going through, agonising whether to take them, because of the pain/discomfort you are in but then it is the unknown so it can be frightening. We all know that, having been down that road sometime or other. You know we are here to help and support you. You only have to make a posting and someone will answer your message. It does not matter how silly you may think the posting may be, don't hesitate to get in touch, someone will be here and able to help or suggest something and if not, support you. Remember that a problem shared is a problem halved.

    Luv

    Oh Pat

have some of these from me ((((()))))

I agree with you the flu-ey feelings are a sign that your RA is not under control or yo are having a flare.

Don't worry about taking the MTX you may find it is the best thing you ever did - a lot on here swear by it, but most of the time all you hear is the ones who don't get on with it.

For now I should rest and rest and rest over the weekend. Hope you have a rheumy appt booked for soon?

    Love

    Toni xx

It hits us all from time to time, paddyw, it does, and we know what it is like. The fact that others may be 'worse off' is irrelevant: we all reach our limits and feel we can take no more. RA is a nasty beast and it has to be fought with nasty meds - I know it would be lovely if we could stop it all by bathing in asses' milk, or inhaling eucalyptus oil, or perhaps by making sure we do ten good deeds a day but the fact of the matter is we cannot. You rest as much as you can, try not to take too many pain dullers (they can sometimes be less than helpful), perhaps divert your attention from it all with a good book, a puzzle or some wonderfully un-challenging telly, and I hope you feel much brighter soon. I wish you well. DD

I hope the acupuncture is helpful, one or two on here have had good results with that (but I think they are on meds too). You have just over a month before you see someone, that isn't too bad. How do you feel about the meth etc now? Still reluctant? I am not surprised but it can really, really help some folk. williamlargs is one - he is leading a very active, dare I say normal life, with little or no pain, walking the dog, going to footy. He has RA but not too badly at the mo - I think the meth is doing its job very very well for him. It must be nice to live like that! Don't forget to rest, that is sooooo important. DD
