Hi All
I am at present trying to get my exercise quota upped and am also on a diet...
I was currently do exercises such as quad ones (straight leg raise), go for walks and manage each bit into about 15mins, then stop and start again, also swim once a week at hydrotherapy pool...Im also doing what the dietitan told me to do chair ones, but only one she said was to use cans of beans as weights .......
Has anyone got any more sort of light exercise ideas? I do have bad left knee so am kinda restricted in that sense, cant weight bear on it...
Thanks

Hi Elaine,
My friend has great success with the arm ones for the dreaded ‘bat wings’. Raise your arms level with your shoulders sideways and do small circular motions both clockwise and anti clock wise. Also point your fingers down wards and bounce your arms keeping them straight out. If you can manage it stand a couple of feet away from the wall and place your hands flat on the wall and lean into the wall using your arms as support to push yourself back into a standing position. I hope this makes sense.

I use the Wii Fit, try to do it daily but not always possible, I find it fun and private and can choose the exercises that I can manage, while having a laugh at myself playing the games0

Hi Florence
I dont have a Wii....They do look fun though apart from the bit where they tell you how fat or thin you are...My niece told me once that my 12year old nephew who is very obese stood on hers it said something like "you are way too heavy for this program"......LOL...Luckily he didnt take it to heart as he's autistic...
Thanks for suggestion...

Hi Elaine,
Oops sorry not very good am I.
Bring your arms up into outstretched position. Bend your wrists up so your fingers are pointing towards the ceiling then gentle bounce your straight arms in a slight wing movement. Then do the same again with the wrist and hand bending downwards. The bouncing is only a couple of inches of movement. Only small movements are needed with both these exercises. You should feel the upper arm muscles working for you.
Yes Elaine, the counter one works in the same way but the wall one keeps your back straighter.
I hope I have done better this time.
