Hi everyone, hope you're all doing ok!
As some of you know I'm on Methotrexate, I had the flu & swine flu jabs. But unfortunately after being around my brother for less then 5 minutes. I caught the lergies lol
I got the sore throat last saturday, which developed into a sore throat & blocked nose by Friday, it's now Sunday, I am still suffering quite bad with bad rib pain when breathing & temperature changes from high to low really quickly. I'm taking day & night nurse which has helped slightly and helps me sleep well at night. My arthritis isn't happy either as the more ill I feel, the more achey I become.
I was just wondering if anyone has any good tips with what they do when they're suffering from flu?
Thanks a lot,
Steph

I stop the meth (and in my case humira too) eat fresh oranges, keep well hydrated and warm: I take paracetamol to help the temp reduce and I have one hot lemon at bed time (I don't do the Nurses!) I hope you feel better soon. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Sorry have no tips , just solidarity ... Have been in bed with lurgees since Friday afternoon, head feels like cotton wool and fireworks (not a good combination) throat like sand paper , sore ears, eyes and chest, and everywhere aches
I've been drinking lots of fluids and taking paracetamol as regular as I can and avoided my Mtx but I still feel like death warmed up. I'm hoping it's going to miraculously disappear by tomorrow as I need to chair a progress meeting on site with 15 other people and currently I can't hear or speak properly :???:
Hope you feel better soon

Hi
Reduce your dairy intake as that creates more mucus when youve got flu and cold bugs...Drink hot blackcurrant, hot lemon and honey or my dad's remedy a Hot Toddie....It can sweat it out of you seriously though if you can bear the taste of whisky (Icant)....YUK!!
Feel better soon

Hi Steph
Perhaps you need to see your GP if that rib pain is still a problem..??
I like nice soups with soft/fresh bread rolls when I have the 'lurgies' - oh ..and a whisky and hot water before I go to bed (even though I can't stand whisky!)
Do let us know how you get on over the next few days.
