What a rubbish day to be off ill!
Dragged myself into work today full of flu as I knew I had an important meeting, and was sent packing by a lovely colleague who after a quick briefing took it off my hands
Went home to next doors roofers sounding like they were trying to break in, bash crash wallop!!!
Then the window cleaners came round , thump crash splash!
Then they decided to dig up our whole road ....we knew it was coming but we're supposed to have 24 hrs notice .... Well apparently that doesn't apply to them digging massive gurt holes outside each of our houses and blocking off the whole pavement,
It wasn't only the persistent noise which made my aching head even worse
But when I went to try and go and pick yoni son from nursery I found that they'd blocked all access to my car... Finally got in thanks to some bloody painful wiggling and wriggling from the passenger side ow ow ow . Was particularly annoyed as if they'd just rung the bell I could have moved the car around the corner!
So a day off has given me a headache and even sorer joints.... I'm tempted to go to work for some peace and quiet tomorrow

    hi chornley
Sods law that when you want to rest workmen appear.
Sounds as though your day went from bad to worse.
Hope that tomorrow is a better day for you.
I had to smile at your post though   sorry
    hope you sleep well tonight

Today I'm enjoying the peace and quiet of a virtually empty office
Not quite better but its far more peaceful here than at home with all that racket! And large doses of hot lemon squash and paracetamol are just about keeping me going

With hindsight watching me struggle into the car would have been funny....I can't have been the only one that struggled as I noticed that the rather large man than parks his car on our street in the day left it over night, I suspect there is no physical way he could have wriggled across  , my poor blind neighbour also struggled as they had blocked off large chunks of the pavement with dirty blue barriers. His wonderful dog found a way round but it wasn't easy for him.

Anyway must get back to the mountain of emails - how do they pile up so fast? I was only off 1 day !!!!!
