Hi everyone,
I can't remember everyone that asked me to let them know how I got on at the hospital so I'm hoping this way is ok.

My neck xray (that I should have been given over a year ago!) has shown up OA. I've to go for xrays tomorrow on hands and feet. Dr examined me and said I definitely have fibro and OA in all my joints. Referred me to physio for neck, hands and feet. Referring me to a nuerologist to find out why I'm getting numbness in fingers/hands.
Bloods taken for various things but I know she's asked for Vit B12, Vit D and Ferritin (to rule out haemochromatosis).
I'm sore all over and feeling yuk! I'm having terrible pains in hands, especially thumbs and think I may have Carpal Tunnel.
Hope everyone well?
Magenta xxxx

I think hospital visits always leave one feeling sore and pulled about but at least they are doing all the right things now and let's hope the neurologist can give you some answers in due course. The best of luck for tomorrow, rest as much as you can tonight - and if you take pain dullers keep them topped up to help with the aches and pains. Another report tomorrow would be good, if you are able! DD

    Hiya,
I'm still numb about it all. I've been going to drs and rhuemy appointments for over 20yrs and getting nowhere and now this. I'm glad in a way that I'm getting answers but I didn't expect to be told that I've probably got OA in all my joints-feel like it's just all progressed from nothing to something very quickly.
I'll get through it though-not going to get down about it(I'll try anyway!).

    Hi magenta

Sorry only just seen your post and that you are feeling yuk.
I am not surprised after your hospital visit and all the xrays you have had.
    Hospitals always leave me shattered.
Hope the physio is of some benefit to you.
Take it easy and take care

    Hello Magenta

I really do admire your "I'm not going to let it get me down" attitude cos I know it's not easy.

I'm sorry that the potential diagnosis has come as a shock to you, but pleased that you have been referred for other investigations to find out what's going on and for some physio which I hope will help.

    Thinking of you.

    Hiya,
    Thanks everyone,
The physio bit I'm not too convinced about. Had it all before, got all the splints and to tell you the truth, I hate them! I can't wear them at work or driving. My wee boy nicked them to play with!!! I should have asked for hydrotherapy.
The rhuemy never gave me a follow-up appointment  So what happens now? Will I only see her again if they find something in my blood tests or xrays? Anyway, I'm getting on with it, I can't kneel on my right knee after I heard (and felt ) something crack in my knee cap area and my left thumb is louping(sp?) but this weekend it's my wee boys birthday so I plan to have fun

    Hi Magenta,
Well at least they are doing all the tests and hopefully the blood results will come through quickly for you. I presume they will be writing to your Doctor so when he has the results he will be able to go through things with you, then you can decide which is the best way forward for you.

Enjoy your weekend and I wish your lad a very Happy Birthday. We do like a slice of cake or three on here.

    Hi Magenta
The update is good in that at least you will get to know what the problems are once the tests are complete and then hopefully you can get the right treatment. Enjoy your little ones birthday and save us some cake!
