Hi all,
Sitting up late again as shoulder is driving me cuckoo!, while waiting for tramadols to kick in, I realised that when I go next week for my first Humira injection it will be on a Friday, the same day I usually take my 20mg of Methotrexate tabs, my question is can I take the two on the same day?
Any help would be appreciated, hope everyone is as pain free as possible

    Hi Poppy

Sorry about your shoulder. I'm having shoulder probs in particular at the moment so you have my every sympathy.

When I was on Humira I was not taking mtx so I'm afraid I can't answer your question - but my gut feeling would be that it might be best to try to stagger them, rather than having, particularly the first, Humira on a mtx day. This might be a question for the rheumatology dept just to double check.

Really good luck with the Humira Poppy. I so hope it works for you.

    Hello again Poppy

Glad your GP is taking you seriously, although sitting waiting for an xray is probably the last thing you feel like doing at the moment

My shoulder is behaving itself pretty well today thanks.

Really good luck with the x-ray and hope you don't have to wait too long.

    Thinking of you.

Hi poppy, when I started humira I had both on the same day, a Wednesday as that was meth stabbing day at the hospital so I was already there - a captured beast, so to speak! They then told me that it was not generally a good idea and as I took on the humira straight away I stuck to a Monday: that was the day the humira nurse came, a fortnight later and that is why I do it on a Monday. As both drugs lower the immune system I would say perhaps miss the meth that Friday and move it to another day, perhaps the Sunday evening or the Monday, but the best people to advise you are your rheumatology team. Give them a ring and see what thay say. My common sense says different days for the two of them - and another day for the annual flu jab! I wish you well and I hope they can sort something for your shoulder. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Tilly and DD,
Back frm x-ray dept and totally shattered. They said there was no obvious break?! (had no idea what they were looking for) but clearly the area around the shoulder joint is massively swollen, so have strapped it up, the doc wanted to give me a steroid shot but I pointed out I've had one done recently, so basically rest and take the tramadol and as I'm seeing the Rheumy nurse next Friday, review things with her then.
Off to bed for a while as exhausted and taken the trammies.
Thanks for all your help and advice ((()))

    Hi again Poppy

Glad you are back from hospital and glad that x-ray didn't show a break. Hope the trammies kick in soon and take the edge off the pain for you. As I said before I so hope the Humira does its stuff for you Poppy. Roll on next Friday eh?

Thinking of you and hoping you have a better night.
