I phoned the ward yesterday as directed to book admission time for my knee revision today and was told that they did not have the results of the MRSA swabs also that there were no beds, although the sister did say she was hopeful of a bed in another orthopedic ward. Today they phoned to say that the swabs never got to be tested and the surgeon would not accept my going in the other ward so a new date has been made for 29th March. Nearly another three weeks wait. I made it clear that I feel it is a case of incomepence. I'n looking forward to hearing the consultants explanation. Certainly not good service.

Hello Al
Grrrrrrrr! Not good eh? I am so sorry that you have to wait again now, due to the incompetence of the hospital but, unfortunately, based on my experiences I would believe it
Thinking of you.

Hi Al
The NHS has gone mad, in the last year I have had two cancellations,3 times changes, one appointment never came through.....sorry I am going on a bit...but it does make me mad...I do hope you tell them how you feel when you get there.
Good luck with it all

Don't we have enough to stress about already???
I hope that you get a grovelling apology at the very least.. You want to know why the swab test wasn't done in the first place
Best of luck for in three weeks time thoughMe-Tony

GRRRRRRRRR i am so cross for you.
That is just not good enough. As tony says we have enough stress to cope with.
I hope you are not let down in 3 weeks time.
Have my fingers crossed that a bed and the necessary tests are in order.
Take care

Sorry to hear about the problem you're having, it is very annoying especially when there isn't really any need for it, they just need to get their act together, obviously too much to expect. Iwent for an appointment today with opthalmology as I have a cataract, they wanted to put drops in my eyes which mean you can't drive for 4 hours, I wouldn't agree to that because I'd driven there (to nearby town 10 miles away), they said, "wasn't it on your letter", of course it was, that's why I drove instead of asking my husband, DOH, (as Homer Simpson would say). If you saw this in a drama you'd say, that's not very realistic as it's too obvious. So I've wasted my time, not to mention petrol (which now costs a kings ransom) because they are inefficient and stupid. Sorrry to go on, but to say I'm p***** off is putting it mildly.

why could they just not take you in and treat you as if it came back positive they do treat people who r positive just separate bathroom facility's etc think they did not have a bed and can not turn to many people down because of that so use excuses valval0

Hi all,
Just to make a point I phoned ward again to ask why Consultant would not use other ward and was told that he doesn't like other wards as only that one is free from infection," You could catch any nasty things in the other wards". I made a comment as to the difference in what the Director of the trust says is their aim in patient satisfaction and what happens. Nurse said that I should write to him to which I replied thats just what I'm doing. I still think it better to wait till job is done before making too much fuss.
