Hi all,
I have just looked through my paper work for my claim for DLA, i first claimed on the 20/1/11. They sent me a letter saying they were requesting info from my doc then another requesting info from my consultant. I was wondering how long the usual wait is and wether a long wait usually means 'good' news?
Funds are increasingly running our and with no way of topping them up the wait is growing more and more anxious!

I honestly cannot remember exactly how long my application took before I heard, but I think it was along the lines of three months. Any sort of government-and-benefits connected paperwork takes for ever, which when you think of the number of applicants they recieve per day is not that surprising. I am sure you will hear something soon - if you have not heard by the end of this month then chase them up - or sooner if you cannot wait! DD

I sent in my claim a couple of weeks ago and the advisor who helped me said I may hear in May. so I reckon that means 6-8weeks. Mine has gone to Leeds
, but I assume that there are other DWP offices around the country
