I’ve just seen the news about the repatriation of the dead Army dog handler and his loyal dog to the UK today and somehow it’s really upset me, I see what is going on in Libya and all the killing and fighting over oil, and what really stings is the cynical gesturing of our politicians and the utter rubbish they go on about, they shout about democracy and how bad Gadaffi is yet for years were dealing with him behind closed doors getting fat dealing arms to him it makes me choke, were supposed to be going away from oil yet now they talk about securing the oil fields, what utter hypocrisy!,.
The longer I live the more depressed get, I have the feeling one day I will be lying on my death bed and the last thought to go through my head will be “you know none of it made any sense”.

we know it makes no sense and they can use other things to provide power but the back handers comes from oil firms so why would they put that in harms way money and power is all they care about it no mystery

remember Jesus said (not being religious here but i always remember this) they know not what they do.............if a nice chap like him couldnt make more people see sense 2000 years ago it isnt going to happen. Humans are made up of loads of cells and some are made up of dodgy cells....its as simple as that...some people are selfish and couldnt care less......how do we know what is reported is correct?

Yeah your right oneday it's a lost cause, what gets me is politicians and dictators see a few guns going off and get all sexually aroused daft ****'s, they seem to work on the principle if they can't goose the secretary or close aid then they will start a fight with anyone they think is weaker than them, only thing the first they love to do themselve's and are always at it the latter they send other to do as they are total cowards. If they were made to be in the front line each time they had those kind of thoughts then there would be a lot less killing and a lot more goosed woman in the commons, and how in hell did Prescot manage it??, I mean dam it's not due to his good looks and charm now is it??

I am not taking sides on Libya but I thought it was interesting that Gaddaffis son referred to the rebels (media term for opposition) as terrorists.....
what news is being reported to us....are they rebels...are they terrorists...what are they?

Also, nato,un, them lot are getting involved but why dont they get involved in terrible things happening to the people in african counties (whoops forgot, dont tell me its just about oil)

Its the poor innocent peoples who are like pawns...

news shows libyans asking for help from west but when we help we get criticized by their "neighbours" etc that we are interferring then we get terrorists attacks on home turf - never understand that one...
Also, the countries they are friends with, also nearer counties, other arab countries, other muslim countries why dont we hear how they are trying to help sort it out - are they helping and its not reported or are they not doing anything.
also thought uk got no money to spend...so wheres money coming from...
you know i am sure a class full of 8 years old could sort it out better

i agree with your comments though Oneday. UK gets abuse for interferring and abuse for 'standing by and allowing it to happen'. At least the Japanese asked for help.

Years ago before tv etc we would have had no idea what was going on and would had gone on with our lives peacefully ignorant of what was going on elsewhere. If we grew more food, only ate local food worked locally and never used cars............we would not have to worry about the east.

As someone said it is about the oil but it is also about the people getting their freedom which we take for granted. Unfortunately you cannot make an omelette with out breaking eggs. I do not feel that we should get involved the people have to do what is right for them and evolve. This is no different to what has happened in this country over the years

But that is people power and when needed should be used. I don't want anyone to die but it will be fact that this will happen.

Humans eh love em or hate em their always up for a bit of mass murder as soon as liquid gold is involved, oddly though we are the 2nd biggest arms exporter in the world yet Germany exports none and only makes industrial items for world sale they have obviously learnt a lesson form the 2 wars they started while we haven't, we are as much to blame in a way, we talk of honesty truth and justice while out the back door we tool any idiot up we want to brown nose to get special treatment, then when it blows up like now we start shouting about democracy and human rights while the nutter we helped tool up murders his own with the weapons we sold him, even blowing up a plane isn't really to much of a problem so long as he doesn't do it to often oil has a lot going for it, and anyway whats the difference, one uses a bomb in a suitcase the other uses a state of the art missle launched from a warship inside Iranian waters and then give the ships comander a flippin medel. it seems the farther south you go the more crazy people become in some ways so arming them up like we have isn't a good idea period, and while I'm on a rant an example of stupidity is the Taliban, like many of worlds dictators or generally nasty buggers they are in part the creation of the west or the US in their case, the yanks love to feed their ID, we are the dictators best freind we should stop messing these countries up for pure greed over logic and more importantly decent humanity
We in the west are morally bankrupt, you can't tool half the world up and then spout morals as soon as they use them on each other it'd odd but if they attacked the country next door that would be seen as more acceptable for some odd reason??, it's seen more as just neighbours having a spat over parking while killing your own citzens is more like killing your family with a bread knife not sure theres much in it in my eyes?, I mean what are guns for anyway in the end and we were happy to assist with loads of them all for a little extra oil.
And saying if we didn't do it someone else would is a cop out and again morally bankrupt. If that's the way of thing them why don't we start supplying drugs to anyone who wants or has the cash for them after all what's good for the south American cartels is good for our economy, at leat you might just die high rather than with your body full of good old made in GB sharapnel while you slowly bleed to death in a grotty destert.
We should get away from weapons full stop it's bad Karma and deep down we all know it.
