Hi

Are you watching the new series on BBC2, ''The Wonders of the Universe'' with Professor Brian Cox :?: I've got a bit of a crush on him because he explains things in a way that I can understand. He goes to some fabulous locations to illustrate what he is talking about, and there was some amazing filming on the first programme.

I felt rather sad though when he was explaining ''the arrow of time'' because he made me realise that everything has to end eventually, including the universe. It just goes to show that we should try to enjoy it all while it lasts.

Love the programme, totally engrossing, but why does the unverse have to end, that means everything! So what is the point???

Tinkerbelle you posts always confuse me .. what is it with s/p?

It's a bit depressing to think that everything is coming to an end eventually, and I found that quite sad, but it's trillions of years in the future, so I don't think you need to worry too much, Len.

Yes, I don't understand s/p either, but was pretending I did so as to look intelligent

It just doesn't seem right somehow, you work hard to get your GCSE in woodwork and the whole universe comes to an end!
Someone needs to do something about it now!

The Condems will sort it Len I'm sure!.
Brian Cox has put the cool back into science, did you see the 700th edition of the sky at night he was on there as well, now they started to go into the theroy of dark matter and a 4th dimession, we are on the verge of big discoveries but what worries me is if the universe started 13,7 billion years ago then it's finite so can also end at any time, best hit the unker Len the drinks are on you!.

You're right, it's just not fair, is it :?: My philosophy is to live for today in case it all ends tomorrow

I wish I was younger, we are on the verge of finding out some fantastic things

Again I can't remember who said it but he was an astro physicist (sp?), and went something like this, ' Something wonderful is waiting to happen'

It was Carl Sagan, the American astronomer, who said, “Somewhere, something wonderful is waiting to be discovered…''
