Hello
I'm Jan and I have be looking at this site for a while so thought it was time to say hello and thanks for advice I already have read on here.
I am in my fifties have OA. I have had both hips replaced...first one went well but have had ongoing problems with the second one...had further surgery but have been left with an unstable and painful joint.
I was nursing until four years ago and had hoped to return after my surgeries but that was not to be.
So that is me and A big hello to all.

Hi Jan,
A warm welcome to the forum, although it's sad you had to join the arthritis brigade!
I've recently had to give up work after 15yrs, as a self employed reg Childminder, I hope to be able to go back to it if my Psoriatic arthritis can be tamed with the concoction of meds that I'm on, but it's not looking likely, it is hard to give up your career I can identify with you.
Hope to see you posting soon Jan, all the best Poppy X'grá agus solas'

Hello Jan
Welcome to the forum. Sorry that you have had to join the brigade but as I am sure you are aware, we are a nutty bunch and we will offer help and support where ever we can.
I have been told by my pain specialist that I have OA of the spine but i havent had the official diagnosis. I will get that on 15th March. I have been suffering with back problems constantly since August and it is only now that a diagnosis is being made. I havent been able to work since August and although I have applied for jobs, I have been turned down because of my back problems. This has made things difficult for me and I am hoping after the diagnosis and correct meds have been sorted that I can get back to work even if it is only part time.
I hope that you are ok and that your arthur doesnt cause you too much discomfortJaki0 -
Welcome from me too Jan.. Hope that the sun is shining where you are and that you are not suffering too much today... The sunshine always seems to make things that little bit more bareable than the rain eh? Lol
Be well..Me-Tony
