Hiya,
I'm getting a teeny bit annoyed now! My right shoulder has now joined the list of affected joints. It sounds and feels like it has completely disintegrated. Causing me immense pain! I'm going for xrays on feet and hands on Monday. Do I have to have 'shoulders' written down on xray form in order for them to xray shoulders too or can I ask them to do it?

No, Magenta, a doc asks for X-rays not the patient. They might do your shoulder at a later stage but it'll be up to them. I always think shoulder pain is a real **** so hope yours can be relieved soon.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Eileen,
Sticky Is right I am afraid it has to have its own bit of paper each time. Its probably linked to your neck and well you should mention it next visit cus it can really get bad.
It might just need a run through with a physio for some exercises to keep it more mobile.
Not really helping flower but don't vex your self too much as from the xrays they might know whats going on as shoulders are often a symptom of something else.
hang in there flower cus they are starting to get things sorted a bit for you. Love and a ton of ((( )))'s Cris xx0 -
Hi Stickywicket and Cris,
I kinda knew that, I just thought, seen as how I'm at xray it would make sense to get shoulders done too. I'll now have to go to drs, ask for an xray, go to another hospital and it'll take months.
Told my Mum and my 2 sisters today about what's happening with me and I burst into tears. I cope around my kids and hubby but I fall to pieces when I tell the rest of my family.
My ankles have been clunking all day too-I'm like the old advert Jimmy Saville used to do about seatbelts-'Clunk Click with every trip'!!!

Eileen  poor poor you
I am so glad you have your family to bawl to. We all need to feel sad about it all sometimes...
Can you not ring Gp and ask for referral then do all at the same time? Mind you you will ache for Scotland after all those images are done!
Love

No necessarily and, in any case, whatever is prescribed for one joint will help others also.
It's very hard when you're in a lot of pain to see things positively. I think Frogmorton and Collywobble are right. Go back to your GP, explain the situation and see what more can be done. I've often convinced myself that nothing more could be done, at least immediately, only to find that, actually, it could. I hope that works for you too.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Eileen , you sound really down , the trouble is you cant sort it out they just dont get to the bottom of it for you. When you have a lot going on it becomes to much . All you can do is go back to the gp and insist on an xray for your shoulders , they seem to do one at a time until you get the right diagnoses . As you know this all happened with me , i am still waiting weeks for my meds to start they dont understand how horrible it is having all this pain. I know it is easy to say go back again and insist but thats what i had to do.
i hope you get some answers , hang on in there .............alicea x0 -
Hi everyone,
I'm going to my GP soon to see if I've to stay on the Meloxicam and rhuemy has suggested Pregabalin to try. I'll ask for xrays then. If I have anything showing up in blood tests then I'll have to go back to rhuemy so I can then ask her for more xrays.
Lynn, you're so right about family seeing through your 'brave' face. One of my sisters was a nurse so she knows immediately when I'm trying to say that everything's fine.
I'm trying to not get down but I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today. Done too much yesterday and I'm suffering today. Nevermind-I'm away to do my ironing
Thanks everyone for your messages,

Hi Eileen,
Oh flower there's always a emotional impact with this dam bone stuff and its ok to cry, its so damming and takes so much out of you!
I have been on the pregabs for over two years now and for my they are good... They still can mess with my head a bit but back in the beginning they did mess a bit and it took me ages to get up to 300 2x a day and be sane..... well as sane as I have ever been that is....
i so hope they will start to help you, look at your neck and do something even if its juts trigger point jabs.
Do you go to a pain clinic at all Eileen... it might help and if you get a good one its really worth it.
leaving you a (((( )))) and a sunny day bucket. Cris xx0 -
Hi Magenta,
I just wanted to say I hope the appointment for your x-rays goes ok tomorrow.
It is good to have a cry now and then and when I can I’m not averse to punching the pillow either.
Ironing!!! Good heavens woman. Sit down and rest. I have never known ironing to run away so let it sulk behind the chair.
Gentle hugs,

Hi Cris and Ironic,
I'm now getting scared. My right shoulder is really bothering me now and
I have clunking and something popping out in my spine-in between my shoulder blades. I'm now getting scared to move. I'm going to physio tomorrow so I'll see what they suggest.

PS Cris, I had a pain clinic appointment in Dec 2009, my next appointment was due in October 2010 only for it to be cancelled and moved to April 2011-but that too was cancelled and I'm now due to be seen in October 2011!!!!!0 -
Best of luck for tomorrow magenta... Hope you are doing ok..
Keep on smiling...Me-Tony
